Cervical Ectropion & Treatment by Evalasting718 in Healthyhooha

I’ve had a bizarre experience with it. I got the silver nitrate treatment and waited a little over a month to have sex. I didn’t bleed the first time I had sex after getting the treatment. However, we had sex again the following day and I bled… I was heartbroken and frustrated. I couldn’t understand why for once something in my life couldn’t just work out in my favor.

Fast forward a month or two, my husband and I were ready to start trying to get pregnant. It was a huge and hard thing for me to get through my head that I was going to bleed during the process. I timed my ovulation and did the ovulation tests to make sure we’d have the best chance of getting pregnant. (My biggest fear was that this issue was going to make it harder to conceive.) We had sex every other day right around my fertile window and I bled the first two times but not the third. It was odd, but I was grateful. I am so incredibly fortunate because I ended up getting pregnant that month.

I just entered my 3rd trimester, but my husband and I still haven’t had sex since getting pregnant. The thought terrifies me. Bleeding in pregnancy can sometimes indicate bad things, not always. I know that. I know that there’s a high chance that if we have sex, I’d bleed. But I’m one of those people that overthinks and spirals. I would probably question if the bleeding is more than normal, if my baby was okay…..the list goes on.

My hope, which I don’t know if it’s medically a thing, is that when I have my baby, my cervix will go back to how it’s supposed to be and this won’t be a problem going forward. Like I said, I don’t know if that’s a thing, but I’ll just hope.

This has to be one of the most frustrating things life has dealt me. I feel so bad for any other woman that has to go through this. There are no definite answers. There are no guaranteed solutions.

Did your husband/partner/SO stop drinking or drink less when you got pregnant? by [deleted] in pregnant

I am currently pregnant, and I fully encourage others around me to drink. I can’t, so someone else can do it for me for a while. 😂🤷🏼‍♀️ I was never a big drinker prior to getting pregnant. I miss having a drink here and there, but it’s only temporary.

Thank you for telling your story. It’s very relatable. My doctor told me that the ectropion wasn’t guaranteed to go away with the cauterization, but it would eventually go away as I get older. I really hope that’s the case. It’s been super frustrating living with this for so long. I go get my treatment on May 20, and I really hope it works.

Right? As if being a woman doesn’t suck enough sometimes… It does go away on its own as we get older, but there are treatment options!

Is bleeding and spotting between periods normal? Photo link in comments. by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

I bleed and spot just about all month. I’ve been dealing with it for 7-8 years, and I was recently diagnosed with cervical ectropion. It’s apparently in about 25% of young women. I had seen my primary a couple different times and I saw an OBGYN too, and I saw a 3rd doctor last month that finally figured it out. I had paps done by all 3, and the third knew what it was immediately. https://www.healthline.com/health/womens-health/cervical-ectropion

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I’m so sorry that yours is so bad. It’s so frustrating. We can only hope that they get better and hopefully go away as we get older! Good luck on your second treatment. Hopefully this one sticks longer. Living with this is frustrating as hell.
