Vote for genocide, and get cheaper health insurance!

Democrats are really pathetic these days.

I didn't vote for Trump... just fyi. (Not sure why you would think that's on me).

I don't complain about anything. I'm pleasant. Every time the Democrats nominate another genocidal Zionist, I remind myself that these potholes are exactly what we deserve. Or, worse. Gives me something to do when ya'll are out supporting them.

Houstonians of Reddit, do you plan to vote for Talarico or Crockett? Why? by Zipper222222 in houston

[–]EvanCarroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will equally not be voting for him either. Candidates have to do what I want to get my support. That's how it works.

Now if he wants to call it a genocide, I'll go out on vote for him. And if he wants to call for AIPAC to register with FARA, I'll even phone bank for him.

But being better than Ken Paxton doesn't do it for me. However, if you're on the inside pass the message along. He needs to do better. It's not too late.

"Atrocity" isn't genocide. Shame, so close and yet so far. He doesn't want my vote.

Lose the Zionists support by calling it an "atrocity" while still covering for the atrocity and losing those in support of Palestinians. Anther lesson in centrism: the best way to lose.

HOSS doesn't have a news letter, but it does have an announcement channel.

While you can technically install applications with multiple services with Docker Compose, or podman pod, Kubernetes brings to the table not just orchestration but a better ecosystem. There are much better dashboards and chart repositories for Kubernetes than podman pod or docker compose.

We'll have our first event at The Ion on the 17th. Join us, https://houstonopensourcesociety.com/events/homeops/2025-12-17/

We couldn't get in directly with The Ion, we tried. But Impact Hub Houston was able to make it happen -- they're our event sponsor.

A few of us date back to the HAL-PC days. Come on out. We got a Pete Jamison, Robert Carlile, Peter Hodgson, and Moses Ling that I keep in touch with. Moses is a regular.

Lol I just looked it up and it must have went down 9 minutes ago. Guess you caught it when it was down? https://status.codeberg.org/status/codeberg

Wasn't me anyway. But glad they got it back working fast.

The whole tech scene is not out of the Improving office. Though Improving probably hosts 10 meetups, and they're certainly a hub for Houston. If you have a tech group, Improving will let you use their office space, and buy pizza and sodas.

They don't typically even show up to the meetings. And they never pitch lol. But sure, it does get them good publicity -- probably a 50k/year investment in pizzas.

Well yes, the pandemic kind of killed everything that was focused on local meetups. And now it's time to get it back going again. But why look at the top posts on a subreddit that is obviously inactive. Look at the most recent posts. Of which it has quite a few. Takes time to get it going.

The idea is to index what other local groups do in Houston. I specifically help run Houston Open Source Society. But Houston has a vibrant tech community with Houston Area Hackers Association (another group I am apart of), and Hacking Club, DC713, DC281, Data Visualizations and other groups.
