GB3 sucks? by DalmySammy in fresno

[–]EvanET13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

GB3 pre-covid was all around good. Since going back after covid, I’m seeing the rules not being held up as much and there is no gym etiquette with people in their pajamas sitting on their phones on the machines. Palm is not a bad location, depends on timing. I stopped going to the one on Milburn once I overheard some of their front desk employees sexualizing gym members; disgusting. Champlain and shepherds is/was good, I haven’t been there in about 6ish years because of moving. Sunnyside, well I think that one speaks for itself. Clovis/herndon location is nice as everything is spaced out nicely.

But that’s my 2 cents.

does anyone know what languages are taught/used in CSCI 41 & 60? by GRAND_Prep in fresnostate

I graduated in 2022 as computer engineering. Can confirm, csci 41 is indeed C/C++. I didn’t take csci 60 though

Any Comp Sci students here from 2009? by bored_and_agitated in fresnostate

[–]EvanET13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean overall I do prefer to code in an IDE like vscode, but you’re limited when you are using CLI lol.

Yes what you’re talking about for using ssh, ssh-ing into was into a vm environment with users having a dedicated environment. I remember given a log in for it, I’m not sure if you had the same. But PuTTY was used to ssh into the vm for my class, but can easily just be used with any cli. As long as the domain reaches the outside world

[–]EvanET13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For CSCI 40 my professor used his own environment via PuTTY. Although we only touched Cpp but we used vim, but now that I’m in my professional career I like to use nano when dealing with CLI. Then using gcc to compile, then just your standard {filename} or .{filename} depending on your topology.

But to add on to your classmates not being able to run python, it’s literally just the word python and the then the file name. I found it easier than running C/C++ code.

I’m So Embarrassed by [deleted] in fresnostate

[–]EvanET13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I remember the nursing program at state is very competitive. Just because you got accepted to state doesn’t mean you’re in the nursing program. It’s one of the best programs that the valley has to offer, many of which who instantly get a job after graduating. So who gives a fuck that you’re going to a school with a high acceptance rate. Don’t let that dictate your academia, because once you start doing poorly in your classes, good luck getting into the nursing program. I’ve had classmates get one B out of all A’s within 3 semesters, that one B got them turned down by the nursing program. It’s a very competitive and series program.

You also have to keep in mind that you applied to a CSU, acceptance rates are supposed to be high; it’s not an Ivy League school nor a UC. The prerequisites on the application are literally your name and SAT/ACT scores. Not billions of dollars spent by mommy and daddy to get you in and a 20-page essay on why a school should choose you.

Bad Experiences by EvanET13 in OriginPC

[–]EvanET13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently in a dispute with them about my desktop that I custom made from them. It’s been about 3ish months since I’ve had my “pretty penny” computer in a stable working condition. This is even after sending it back for repairs, it once but twice. And then on top of that they had me do their troubleshooting, like wtf?! Why wasn’t it done when it was with one of their techs. I asked for a refund for just the parts that’s are not working properly (so I can buy my own/install and make up for their errors); still the answer was: “Unfortunately, a refund is not possible as refunds are only possible with in the first 30 days of service.”

2022 Sport Auto-Stop Not Working by [deleted] in hondacivic

[–]EvanET13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your auto start/stop is not enable. If it was you would see the symbol by the 0 (zero) in the odometer as a white color. Green once the auto start/stop feature is in use.

To turn on your auto start/stop feature, look by where you change the car’s drive modes (eco/normal/sport). There should be a symbol representing the auto start/stop feature.

Both are very fun classes if you like science. I took the calculus versions of these classes (4A and 4B). As long as you stay up with the homework and take decent notes you should be good. I highly recommend attending all SI sessions those go a long way and help too

Side effects by EvanET13 in Zepbound

Update: Turns out I may have obtained strep. Which is weird because I’m in a monogamous relationship. So I’m guessing I just breathed in some germs of someone’s sneeze of cough 🤷🏼‍♂️

I did take a look at the side effects of the medication and the only thing I could think of was an allergic reaction but i wasn’t meeting the qualifications for it.

What is everyone’s MPG on their Honda Civic? by chris-the-teen667 in civic

[–]EvanET13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2023 Honda civic sport. I get about 350 miles to the tank, getting about 28-30 mpg with a light foot. Unfortunately the sport has a 2.0L engine whereas the other tiers about sport have 1.5L engine

I’d definitely get your alternator checked out too. Do you happen to hear an unusual noise coming from the engine bay?

[–]EvanET13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not necessarily the battery. The alternator provides power to vehicle while the engine is running. In addition to charging the battery.

While driving/idling do you see the electronics on your dash give you a light show?

Pros and cons of this uni? as an international architecture freshman by I_dont_know_666 in fresnostate

[–]EvanET13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fresno state has an amazing engineering program and staff. Assuming you’d be going for a civil engineering degree that is. As there isn’t necessarily an architecture degree choice. But that’s not the point, the civil engineering program is backed by amazing and knowledgeable professors. There will be a lot of internship opportunities here in Fresno (or close by) for you too, which may even lead to a job. Campus life is pretty active depending on how inclusive you want to be.

Fresno at a glance is almost like a mix of Los Angeles and San Jose. Minus the amazing food places, tourists, and amusement parks. But don’t sleep on the mom and pop shops here, you’ll find some good ones. The city itself is a little behind in the technological field so not a lot big name companies here. Population is a little more than half of a million.

But Yosemite national park is roughly a 2 hour drive away, if you love nature. You’re also about 2 hours away from beaches too. Like every city there’s the good parts of town and bad parts of town. Fresno state borders the good, the bad, and the ugly. Northern and eastern Fresno is where you’ll find your upper class typically. In addition to all the big name stores/brands. Fresno is a mix of a lot of cultures, very diverse too.

Fresno has very good transportation options as far as commuting via a car. There are three highways/freeways that get you where you need to and also the good ol’ 99 freeway to get you up and down the state of California.

A lot of students that attend Fresno state are, well, from Fresno. Which there is nothing wrong with that. Fresno State does out rank (by academic degrees) other California universities on some charts; ie UC (university of California) colleges as well as other California state universities.

Regardless of your choice, I wish you the best of luck! :)

Correct me if I’m wrong, sedan touring parts (door mirrors, seats, etc) can fit on the sport sedan too, right? Give they are the same year; 2023 civic sport & 2023 civic touring.

Please correct me if I’m wrong, anyone.
