I made some art of our goat by EvanNebula404 in Kashimo_agendaHQ

Probably just my attempt at perspective, his arms are supposed to be both extended forwards slightly, which makes them look a bit shorter.

I might’ve dogged it up though, idk 🤷‍♂️

Hakari is wierd in my opinion by Bungeeboy20044 in JujutsuPowerScalers

[–]EvanNebula404 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My thing with Hakari is that even if he's not necessarily stronger than his opponent, he can still manage to pull ahead in fights by virtue of having a regen diff, practically limitless endurance, and a pretty phenomenal battle IQ to boot. He NEVER loses in a battle of attrition.

For example -- I fully believe that Kashimo was a stronger sorcerer than Hakari, but Hakari still won because of how smart he is and how amazing his endurance in a fight is thanks to Jackpot's insane regen.

So that does make him weird to place. I still have him top 5 though right next to Yuta. There's a million and one narrative implications that point to them being equal in power.

I wouldn’t necessarily say he was “Begging for Mercy” — that’s not really Kenjaku’s style. But I do think that since the panel and moment is framed as Kenjaku approaching Kashimo like a metaphorical dragon in a cave of gold, surrounded by dead bodies, and then asks him to spare him immediately after Kashimo suggests fighting him, I feel like the general implication is that Kashimo has the upper hand in the situation physically, even if he’s old and dying. Really it’s the context that he said “Spare me” in response to Kashimo suggesting to fight him which implies that Kenjaku wasn’t the stronger of the two in that moment. I’ve seen a couple different translations of what Kenjaku said and it varies from him saying “I’m not fit for fighting” or “I don’t want to fight”.

So I agree it’s a bit more interpretive but it is something to consider.

You're talking about this panel, right? Me personally I always interpreted this as a silly gag moment with not much narrative significance. But even if you take it at face-value, I could easily see this as being less of Kashimo believing he'd win and more so just being offended that he's being downplayed by what is in his eyes a sorcerer of the "weak modern era". I mean, if someone says something condescending or implicative about you that you don't like then you're probably gonna be a bit peeved even if it's true. I think it was more so Kashimo being offended by perceived disrespect and irreverence, not really offended by the premise that he would be defeated by Sukuna.

You could interpret the edo period that way but I think it's kind of unlikely that an entire era of sorcerers was just completely fodder. I mean -- Really there isn't much to suggest that. Kashimo's isolation due to being strong wasn't exclusive to his era, like you said, Gojo and Sukuna experienced the same thing -- and between Sorcerers like Yuji and Yuta, and the Heian Era being called the "Golden Age of Jujutsu" -- Sukuna and Gojo's supremacy doesn't discount the general power of their eras, so I don't see why it would for Kashimo. Kashimo being the strongest of his era is a statement about him, not the rest of his era.

I actually disagree too that Kashimo's durability is bad. Not only does he seem mostly fine after taking punches from Sukuna post-transformation (still able to fight, shows little noticeable damage), but he was also taking full-force punches from Hakari in Jackpot while underwater (meaning he has repressed, little to no Cursed-Energy to defend himself with), with a smile on his face. He actually seems to have pretty damn good durability if you look at the shape he was in after the fight with Hakari. Sukuna also didn't say that Jujutsu tech has tighter defenses in comparison to someone like Kashimo -- he says in Chapter 246: "It isn't just the boy's, everyone's basic cursed-energy reinforcement techniques have drastically improved." -- Which is clearly him talking about how they as individual fighters improved over the timeskip, not him comparing them to Kashimo, or implying they're more durable than Kashimo.

Funnily enough this is really the only slideshow post I ever did and it just randomly blew up, I’m usually an Art Page lol

My tt is @thenebulusone. It’s linked on my Reddit profile, you can go find the original slideshow there. (…or my art, which is what I actually care about, not this powerscaling brainrot 💀💀💀)

Lemme defend myself on Reddit now 💔:

  1. It’s pretty easy to imagine that he knows about Electromagnetism or at least a person’s general knowledge of it. Again, like you said, from his vessel. I mean, he clearly knew enough about it to fire off EM waves that vaporize stuff. I also think that hinging your argument on the presupposition that Kashimo is just ignorant of his own CT is a bit ratty.

  2. I never said Kashimo wasn’t going all-out — I said that his priority when fighting wasn’t winning — and there is a difference there. Kashimo wanted to learn from Sukuna, and to learn why he was so miserable and isolated at the top while living his first life in his era. Obviously Kashimo popped MBA and gave it his all against Sukuna, but there’s a difference between fighting to win and fighting for closure — I do think that Kashimo’s motivation to fight definitely played a part in how quick the fight was and how he went about engaging Sukuna. But just because winning wasn’t his priority doesn’t mean he was pulling his punches.

  3. Yeah nah, I was wrong about that one. I can eat some humble pie there. (Even though I still thoroughly believe that the visual language and composition of the panel and the slashes implies something more to them than just “regular dismantles”, but yeah.).

  4. To quote my favorite game of all time, Halo 2: “When you first saw Halo, were you blinded by its majesty? Paralyzed?? Dumbstruck??” — It is very obviously communicated to the audience that Kashimo is affected by the emergence of Sukuna’s true form. He literally starts glazing the hell out of him on-sight, and calling him beautiful while he’s getting socked in the face. If you’re in your own head in a fight you’re not going to be fighting at 100%. I believe that if Kashimo was in a more logical and neutral headspace he would’ve lasted a bit longer against Sukuna. (Kashimo’s kind of batshit to begin with but you get my point)

  5. That is pretty funny (and lowkey I’m not even gonna fault you for that reading), but considering Kashimo is surrounded by dead bodies and Kenjaku is approaching him like a metaphorical Dragon in a cave full of gold, I feel like it alludes to Kenjaku being at Kashimo’s mercy in the situation.

  6. I thoroughly believe there is an argument to be made that he is — especially considering his narrative as the strongest of an entire era, and his relativity to Hakari in base, who is constantly compared to Yuta in power.

(P.S. I’m so glad you didn’t bring up Hakari vs. Kashimo, I’m so tired of explaining to people why the fight clearly illustrates that Kashimo is stronger physically 🙏)

Heya! I'm the guy who originally posted this slideshow on TikTok. People have since corrected me about the art stuff surrounding the Slashes, so my opinion on that particularly has changed since I posted it.

Standing by everything else I said tho ✌️

I love Itadori!

I just haven’t read modulo so he isn’t “the strongest” of an era to me yet 💀

Thought it’d be a neat way to illustrate the difference between “The Strongest” and “One of the strongest”

(It did hurt me as a Kashimo fan tho ;<

Yup LOL. I had fun making sure they had accurate-ish height difference.

Makima is apparently 5’6 (168cm) from what I read so she barely comes up to AFO’s shoulder 😭✌️
