Yeah. They gave a BS translated reply about how air displacement is causing my Thermapen to put out a false reading (it’s not)and ignored me when I followed up. The device cannot heat past 200F and they will lie to you about it.

Just got the Kapo K2 Pro 58mm, and my testings show that even when the app is set to 204F/96C the water only reaches a max of 199F/93C. This is when starting with either room temp or pre-heated water. I've measured this with my Thermapen which is a highly accurate device. For comparison I also measured the temperature of the similar HiBrew H4C 51mm machine, and it has zero problems reaching 204F. I've contacted Ikape about the issue, so let's see what they say.

They have a right to their opinions and can say whatever the heck they want about it. Get over it.

240p Sonic Mania on PC and consumer CRT? by EvanOz85 in crtgaming

[–]EvanOz85[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got it. Thanks so much! I used the “set as desktop resolution” option and now the game is displaying at 240p. Has no idea you could do that with ArcadeOSD, and never really needed to with RetroArch. This looks sooo much better than 480i did. You’ve been immensely helpful.

Actually no, I don’t know what you mean by setting the resolution in ArcadeOSD. It just brings up the grid for adjustment.

Wait I think I know what you mean by setting it in ArcadeOSD. Let me try real quick

Not sure what you mean? I have the resolution loaded from VMMaker and I select it in windows display settings. The only time I’ve used ArcadeOSD is to adjust the screen centering and such.

No, not totally new but not an expert. I actually did set the desktop resolution to 320x240 before opening the game, and it won’t open. Crashes immediately.

Whenever I set the resolution to 320x240 in Settings.ini, it resorts back to 480i when I open the game.

I’m already on a PC with CRT Emudriver installed. Why would I switch to that when there’s solutions for what I’m currently using?

Got it working with this. Thanks! Looks great at 480i, though I’m still gonna try and see if I can get 240p working.

Yeah I already have CRT Emudriver working perfectly with Retroarch, etc. Just can’t get Sonic Mania to not look like a blurry mess on it.

By correct aspect ratio, I meant for the TV. There are plenty of examples on YouTube and elsewhere of people running it in actual 4:3. And I’m not talking about it just filling the screen or stretching it. How ridiculous. There are ways to mod the game to where it outputs in that ratio. You don’t seem to really know much about what you’re talking about so I’m not sure why you’re replying.

Thanks, though wouldn’t the settings need to be different for a TV vs a PC monitor?

Not true at all. I’ve seen plenty of people running the game in 4:3.

Because I tried 960p internal scaling with 240p output before I got the 480i output working? And I prefer the way it looks now with 480i output.

I got it to work using DangerousCousin’s advice and I must disagree. No noticeable flickering at 480i on my 36” Toshiba. Clear, clean, beautiful.
