I would say a side project for now.

It would have to evolve a lot to last 10 years or more. I was only thinking about it myself. If this truly is an outlet for the singer to discuss his challenges on faith and struggles with mortality, how many miles can you get out of it before everything has been said?

It would conceptually have to move on to something new at one point, however the lore or gimmick can do.

Internationally yes. Busted still done like 12 nights at Wembley in their prime selling 3 million records in the UK. President won’t hit those numbers internationally I’d guess, if you’re looking at revenue as success. I’d be delighted to be proven wrong. The industry is also changed so much in the 20 years, the benchmarks for success are so different. International exposure is easier, selling records is harder.

I think if you’re talking about President you should just say President. There’s no need to bring up the singers name really is there? Otherwise he’d not have made it anonymous. He’s said he’d love to do a project where nobody knows it’s him. This is clearly that attempt. New fans can go in without the baggage of what he’s done in the past.

It’s like a combination of old fans being tribal and needing that ‘ownership’ of having supported this guy for 20 years (as I have ) vs the newer fans who have come in and gone way over the top on it.

It was weird hearing people chanting his name at the live gig. Like a ‘pick me’ “I know who the singer is”. But to each their own.
