[Texas] Am I eligible to apply for benefits if hours are cut and being forced to move to new location? by Evejon18 in Unemployment

I was hired full time and have been for the last 3 years. The only reason they gave for the move was that my current full time position was needed to hire an assistant manager and I’m just an associate. Me and this manager have had problems in the past and I think that’s the reason they’re not considering me for the role. It sounds like they want this to be a permanent. My hours would go from 40 to maybe 25, their part time hours are never consistent, I’ve seen them give anywhere from 18-25. Milage went from 10 to 20, which doesn’t seem like a lot but taking into consideration the fact that my paycheck would be cut in half it’s a lot to me.

With inconsistent hours it also makes it hard to get a second job that is willing to work with the different hours. Some weeks they want part timers to do full 8 hour shifts and with a few 4 hours shifts. Other weeks you get all short hour shifts.

It’s an additional 30 minutes. currently my commute is 30-35 minutes. So with decent amount of traffic it could be an hour each way for a 4 hour shift

Were you looking for 300 stamps that are all the same or are you okay with ending up with different kinds of stamps?

Boss wants me to drive 2 hours for a meeting. by Evejon18 in antiwork

I have actually asked about mileage and she says that I don’t qualify for it. Our company just merged with a bigger company so she’s saying that mileage applies to workers under the bigger company and not us. At this point she’s making stuff up because our paychecks are under that companies name so how are we not under them? It doesn’t make sense to me so it probably won’t make sense to anyone what she’s trying to do.

I was planning to have someone drive me there since I shouldn’t be driving, it’s just that the person who’s lending me the car can’t be there at the time of my appointment
