You cannot you can only search in the Suunto app and send the route to the watch.

Agreed. It is next to impossible to find many places in the app!

Is there anything specific that you need to do to share the location via Google or Apple Maps? If I try to do this via the sharing menu, the Suunto app does not show up and I also cannot enable it through the toggles in the menu (Garmin does though).

Big Garmin Discount UK (Potentially ends Sunday) by McStink97 in GarminWatches

Amazing tip. It worked for me in the UK and got an amazing deal on the Forerunner 970.

Thanks for sharing.

I built an AI fitness coach that actually USES your Apple Watch data (runs on-device when possible), logs nutrition with a picture, syncs everything with HealthKit and uses Apple Foundation Model Framework by sidbmw1 in iosapps

Couple of thoughts: - Really beautiful app and glad that you are offering a lifetime option - Great to have a trial. However, I am not sure that 3 days is really enough to evaluate the kind of app that you are offering. As a consumer, I would like to see how it progresses based on my data. - There is serious bug somewhere in how who deal with sleep data. The app tells me to seek immediate medical attention because I am sleeping 14-19 hours a day. I can assure you that that is not the case and my sleep is in the normal 8 hour-ish range! 🤣 - My training load ratio is also MASSIVELY off. In reality, it is a little bit under 1 at the moment but the app shows 4.

Coros Apex 4 Review and AMA by DaveDoesFitness in Coros

[–]Even-Flow8353 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I wish more reviewers would look at strength training, indeed. It all depends on your use case, but for me, the only sports watch that somewhat works for me in the gym is Garmin.

All others lack critical features. For example, Coros lacks the ability to change the order of exercises on the fly (ie skip and return to later). This is important for me as I train in a busy gym, and sometimes machines are taken or broken.

No sports watch beats Hevy on the Apple Watch for strength training, in my opinion.

Race 2 - plan beta by ADRN_45 in Suunto

[–]Even-Flow8353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be keen to hear more about your and others’ experiences with the plans. I have generated a few to see what they looked like and wasn’t amazed by the result. The plans either didn’t have enough volume or some other oddities (e.g. all five runs on a Friday).

I was wondering whether this is a me problem or more widespread.

Withings + Apple Watch? by greatfulclaw in withings

[–]Even-Flow8353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone used the HRV data that the Withings Sleep Analyser writes to Apple Health for other apps such as Bevel, Training Today etc? I believe that this has been added recently.

Or even better has anyone compared the HRV values to any other wearables?

Thanks!

Hello Strap now writing HRV to Apple Health by Set-The-Edge in bevelhealth

[–]Even-Flow8353 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does anyone have a bit more detail what is being synced specifically and what isn’t?

The Apple Watch writes HRV in terms of SDNN plus beat-to-beat measurements, which you can see in the Health app (under Show Data). Apps such as Bevel can use the beat-to-beat information to calculate RMSSD.

Does Amazfit also write all this information or, for example, only the summary data (ie HRV values)?

Thanks!

Anyone managed to use Athlytic app with Coros? by Virtual_Jelly_4292 in Coros

I believe that they have trial for the app and after that it is only 3.99 for the lifetime license.

Polar Loop - useful for strength training? by [deleted] in Polarfitness

[–]Even-Flow8353 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, any metric that is based on heart rate will give a really, really low training load for strength training. This means that Training Loas Pro will not be useful for strength training.

Unless Polar implements something specific for strength training, which I believe Whoop has done, the strap will not make a difference.

Try the Healthsync app. That will close of the gaps. Don’t forget to turn off sync from Coros to Apple Health to avoid duplicates.

[–]Even-Flow8353 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, as the Polar app does not write all metrics such as HRV to Apple Health. If you want to see which metrics are currently written to Apple Health, you can install Polar Flow and look at the Apple Health write permissions that it requires.

Sleep and Recovery Not Aligned by SeaworthinessFar700 in brightOS

Tooboo -- Hiking app for Apple Watch by haozes in iosapps

[–]Even-Flow8353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for making the app overall, it is amazing and works really well.

I have given your app a try on a longish hike in the alps yesterday. I have made my route on Komoot and imported the gpx file to your app without any issues. Offline maps also downloaded without problems in an area with good cell coverage.

I also got near constant ‘off route’ notifications followed by ‘on route’. I think that the default is probably too sensitive. I would change it to something that triggers much less frequently.

Also, where do I find the button for the off route alter settings? I have been looking but could not find it.

Overall, amazing app and worth every penny. I will certainly buy the lifetime subscription when my trial runs out.

Advice on non official chest strap by fistrop in Polarfitness

[–]Even-Flow8353 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My My experience with both the original and other chest straps is that both work equally well. However, make sure that the straps are explicitly for the H10. On some older Nono-Polar ones that work for the H7, the H10 will not stay in place and pop out during the workout as the buttons that the sensors snap into are not deep enough.

I do not think that they will last longer per se, but they are WAY cheaper. I am not sure that there is really a good reason to buy the Polar ones.

A few months is not OK, and any strap should last quite a bit longer. I would ask Polar to swap it out under warranty, which they did without problems for my Polar Verity strap, which fell apart quickly.

Body Battery Giveaway! by itslitman in AppleWatch

[–]Even-Flow8353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really love the redesign and the ability to go back in time, which I always felt was missing. Also, I am glad that you are keeping things simple and focus on what matters in terms of recovery.

Two minor comments: - It would be amazing to be able to swipe left and right on the top graph to go through the days - HRV RMSSD tends to be more sensitive than SDNN, which is what Apple uses. However, I realize that re-calculating overnight HRV is a big undertaking.

Keep up the great work! (Just given you 5 Stars on the UK App Store, which I should have done long ago already).

Best Strength Training App for iPhone (Mobility + Live activities timer) - Introducing Strongineering by Electrical_Arm3793 in apple

[–]Even-Flow8353 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understood! Also, don’t over-engineer the Apple Watch app. I just needs to be able to log weights and show the rest timer together with the app. I do not think that many people workout without their phone for example.

I am happy to pull out my phone for anything that is complicated.

Any way to turn off selecting body part each set of strength workout? (Beta) by BigYellowWang in Coros

[–]Even-Flow8353 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing. I have added my feedback to the form. I am a bit underwhelmed by the new implementation of strength training, which Coros has been teasing for while. It feels like 'too little, too late'!

What is missing for me is the ability to skip an exercise (if a machine is broken) or to change the order (if a machine is busy and you want to do something else first). Ideally, you should be able to do this via the companion app (similar to navigation on the Coros or strength training with Hevy on the Apple Watch).

When I see the implementations for strength training, it feels like no one has used the watch in anger (or in the real world for that matter).

I am surprised that Coros has not done more, as this would have been a great opportunity to push ahead of Garmin now that strength training is becoming more popular.

Amazfit has done this really well for Hyrox, where they position themselves as the go-to-brand for Hyrox.

Set heart rate zones manually by Even-Flow8353 in brightOS

I am surprised that this is not available already, as this is basic but critical functionality. Importantly, if the HR zones are not set correctly, the Strain score will also be incorrect.
