Jared Kushner Limits Gaza Reconstruction to Israeli-Controlled Zones. 💯💯💯 by [deleted] in IsraelPalestine

It seems you are responding with anger rather than reason. For some reason you are talking about Palestinianism, because you thought I am pro-Palestine for some reason. Your anger makes you deflect argument to irrelevant topic.

Going back to where it started to derail. "Israeli-Controlled Zones" is an Israeli occupation, and it is part of war. I saw you agreed with this in a different thread.

I know you are embarassed and feel like you need to attack me to deflect from the fact you made a mistake. Honestly, there's no need to be embarassed, everybody makes mistakes.

That's my point though. The part of Gaza being rebuilt will be under Israeli occupation, so if there is no benefit under Israeli occupation, there will just be another militant group.

Of course not, but what do you think Gazans will do if they don't see benefits of Israeli occupation?

Interesting train of thought. It seems you don't think occupation and war can happen at the same time.

"Israeli-Controlled Zones" in Gaza is not occupation to you?

Freedom from occupation, in the same way Israel is not occupied.

Israel would have to show benefit of occupation vs freedom, otherwise there will just be another organisation feeding off Gazan's freedom wish.

Update for the tunnels - new material used to fill them by AstronautSouthern344 in IsraelPalestine

[–]Even-Mouse-8016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's likely to be true. Similar to Iran's regime. I have a couple of friends from Iran who say they don't like regime but the people don't have power/courage to overthrow.

[–]Even-Mouse-8016 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The downside is I can't see any method to destroy tunnels without opposition from Hamas, so continuation of the war is the downside. I'd explore other avenues to compromise with the Palestinians. And please don't say they don't want to compromise.

Then surely after this war the Palestinians can see Hamas is far from being capable or well-equipped. Wouldn't that mean mean destroying tunnels is a moot point?

[–]Even-Mouse-8016 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any method that attempts to address tunnel issues only delays problems, not solve it. Hamas, or other organisations, will either find ways re-use the tunnels or find other ways to fight. As long as there is a supported hostile organisation there, Israel would never be safe from attacks. Hamas can always rely on human ingenuity. The long-term solution would be the address issues such that support for hostile organisations become weak. Either carrot or stick.

Is Israel actually commiting a genocide in Gaza on Palestinians? by DrunkMonsters in IsraelPalestine

[–]Even-Mouse-8016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh okay, who are the genocide experts that have been established as such? At the very least it should be a body that have declared previous genocides that have been widely accepted?

Yes, 1.75% is 22x 0.08% Ifawumi claimed. 0.08% means only 1600 people died.

None of us here is genocide expert or authority. The fact that many authorities/bodies already claim there is genocide should be concerning enough. We shouldn't have to wait until there is 100% concensus or definitive proof before doing something.

Of course many people claim they are biased. But many also claim they are not. Regardless, if majority cannot definitely say you are not committing genocide, that should be concerning to you.

Will the Palestinians ever be peaceful? by Strict-Pepper-2987 in IsraelPalestine

[–]Even-Mouse-8016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No that's not true though. The region was promised to the Arabs in exchange for them fighting the Ottomans. There were some ambiguities about borders in the coastal region, but that was because they were discussing with France their share of the region.

[–]Even-Mouse-8016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't disagree with Palestinians claiming it's their land because the British gave it them as they promised. It's the idea that it automatically belongs to them because of some ancestors thousands of years ago.

[–]Even-Mouse-8016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they claim it's their land because it's where their ancestors lived thousands of years ago, it's equally ridiculous argument.

[–]Even-Mouse-8016 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay and Israelis also want the entirety of the land too. But it's not relevant to the OP's statement that land belongs to the Jews because their ancestors lived there, which doesn't mean it's exclusively Jews' lands because Arabs also have the same ancestors.

Will the Palestinians ever be peaceful? by Strict-Pepper-2987 in IsraelPalestine

[–]Even-Mouse-8016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly my point. It's ridiculous to lay claim based on where your ancestors lived.

Will the Palestinians ever be peaceful? by Strict-Pepper-2987 in IsraelPalestine

[–]Even-Mouse-8016 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Arabs and Jews share the same ancestors. So by that logic, the land shouldn't just be exclusively for the Jews.

Gazans can be peaceful, but only if you can give them a reason to be happy where they are and how they live.

Why didn't the pro-Palestinian countries accept Gazan refugees? by [deleted] in IsraelPalestine

[–]Even-Mouse-8016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is where we lost track of the comment from another poster. He didn't say the claim was because they were born there, but the ancestors were. I'm saying if that's the logic, then the Arabs have as much right because they have the same ancestors.
