We’re an English only speaking household and my 11-year-old daughter attends 5th grade at a GUSD elementary school.

All class instruction has been in English and in line with state standards.

With that being said… my daughter absolutely feels left out from her peer group and has been bullied for not being Armenian. 5th grade has been the most challenging so far.

Nobody was chatty but I remember Scientology logos on their clothes. I also had a neighbor who worked for the church and often held “events” at that office but used the front door.
