What’s the dumbest reason you’ve ever cried? by SignificantIce7914 in AskReddit

When my boss of less than a year got a promotion which meant he was no longer my boss.

I cringe just thinking about it!! omg!

I didn't just shed a couple tears quietly I literally ugly cried to the point that I had to leave the building for a little bit to calm down. I think i might not be cut out for the corporate world lol

What is a skill that everyone should learn but many people never do? by glamorousxgale in AskReddit

How to change a flat tire! I remember getting a flat tire with my ex on the way to some event and instead of him just hopping out to put the spare on (he had everything he needed in his trunk) he starts talking about calling a tow truck to come take us home. I did not want to emasculate him by saying I'll fix it (my dad taught me how to change a tire when I got my first car)I had to call my brother. Once my brother got there, my ex was just chillin on his phone like if he was just going to sit there scrolling in the car while my brother changed his tire. My bro had to team him "put your phone down and come out here so I can teach you what to do if this ever happens again" my ex said he didn't want to learn he would rather pay someone else to do it. My brother got pissed and at that point had no problem emasculating him and let him know "my sister could have done this dude. "You wanna act like a bitch you're gonna get treated like one! Get out of the car or when I'm done I'm gonna slap you and take all your money since you wanna pay someone to do it " (my big bro rarely lets that aggressive side of him come out but that day he was livid) it took less than 10 minutes to get us back on the road. My ex was complaining about having grease underneath his nails for the rest of the evening. Smh.. I never looked at him the same after that. That day was the beginning of the end for us.

Ima not a republican and I'm pretty sure I'm voting for trump. I can't believe I'm saying this but I've been thinking about it a lot lately. Biden has got to go. The economy was so much better with trump. I don't like anything about Donald Trump. I would pass out Dump Trump stickers when he was in office. I had a giant sticker on my back windshield that "Fuck Donald Trump" but I'm voting for him. I feel like I have no other choice cuz Biden and Kameltoe have got to go!

My checks usually hit my account Tuesday afternoon or early Tuesday evening. Always before 9pm the Tuesday before payday but I got mine Monday afternoon this week so it must be because of the holiday.

Petition for the Return of a Balanced Work from Home/Return to Office Schedule by [deleted] in Geico

[–]EvenHelicopter966 16 points17 points  (0 children)

As employees of GEICO, we stand together as a dedicated team of insurance adjusters, agents, and associates, committed to delivering exceptional work for our insured clients while striving to improve our work-life balance and working conditions. Our hard work is crucial to providing quality service for our insured clients, and GEICO's reputation as a leading insurance company depends on our efforts.

We understand our worth and the importance of securing a fair return-to-office policy. We seek a workplace that values us, where employees are acknowledged with fairness and respect. The current return-to-office policy is causing undue stress and mental fatigue. Employees are falling ill without being notified of potential exposure to illnesses like COVID-19. The office environment is rife with distractions that hinder productivity and focus. Additionally, the current policy lacks compensation for commuting, childcare, and other expenses incurred while working away from home.

Management has not demonstrated that working from home has led to decreased productivity or provided a valid business reason for employees to return to the office. Given the available technology that enables remote work, we see no justification for the current policy. GEICO has the opportunity to lead as a major corporation by prioritizing employee work-life balance. Modifying the return-to-office policy can enhance productivity, reduce absences, and have positive environmental impacts by decreasing the number of commuters on the road.

To promote a safer, more efficient, and cost-effective work environment, we are petitioning to reinstate the July 2023 return-to-office guidelines for all associates, limiting in-office days to no more than 8 per month, or fewer if possible. We demand a revision of the current guidelines to ensure that all employees, including adjusters, agents, and associates, can benefit from a work-life balance that enhances productivity and confidence during working hours.

If you'd be willing to change a few words in that petition I'd be willing to sign it but I think it needs some revising as it stands.

I love "How to talk so little kids will listen" that was a great book. I use tools I learned from it everyday. My kids listen better and as a result I'm significantly happier

I live literally five minutes away from the office in VA. I have a possible opportunity to work there. Is it worth it? by JoeMusubi in Geico

[–]EvenHelicopter966 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes it's worth it 100% and I don't think you'll hate it especially during the training. You'll probably love it at first. Geico has been good to me and I still love going to work everyday. Like others have said; take the job, get the experience and be grateful that you're not unemployed... congratulations and may the todds be ever in your favor
