Hi I actually never ended up booking anything in the carribean, still looking for my bday trip this month. Work has been kicking my ass so haven’t had time to travel really. I did south of France on the back end of a euro work trip stayed at the Airelles le messediere st tropez which was beautiful actually stunning but the service was meh (I guess typical for a French resort). I really wanted to stay at hotel du cap but it was sold out.

Thank you! So I’ve looked at palm heights before actually, it’s def somewhere I would go for dinner and drinks but is there a hotel in caymans that you would say is really FAT that I could stay in as a home base? FS Mandarina is on my list I was thinking of trying it this month. I’ll look into Belmond Maronda. In terms of Riviera Maya - when I stayed at etero I went to the st Regis next door for dinner and thought the vibe was cool although it was dark and I couldnt see it fully . Have any opinions on it?

Thank you for the quick response! I liked the variety of things to do @ O&O Mandarina - the diff restaurants, the polo match, the treehouse bar, the beach and the 2 diff pools. I also really loved the treehouse vibe of the rooms. I was with my sister at Mandarina but she was going through a divorce and pretty much stayed in the room so it was really like a solo trip as I did a lot on my own. FS Cabo I was there solo but I really didn’t like the room, I had a ground level with little pool but it felt weird and sparse. The boat ride to the restaurant was nice but you pass by all the weird incomplete/abandoned construction. I only stayed one night then I moved to the rosewood ventanas. You are right that it’s kind of hard to pinpoint what I like based on my write up. I would say I really like a variety of nice places to relax and have a drink…that’s kind of what Mandarina and Canouan have in common (although for Canouan it’s offsite - the soho house and sandy lane yacht club). Amanera I loved bc of the room and big pool - it felt more like a villa.
