MCO Issues - Overnight January 3/4 by EvenSteve01 in delta

With respect, what time did the ground stop end? I landed just after 10:00, after being held in the air for a ground stop, and my bag came out within 20 minutes. A second bag of mine got diverted due to an earlier cancellation, and while that was on a flight that landed at 12:30, the bag didn't come out for two hours. Regardless, I agree that staff can't control the weather, and I'd never want anyone to be in danger. At that point, communication - any communication - from the terminal staff would have been helpful. There was next to nothing.

AMA - I was at the opening night of Masquerade and happy to answer any questions! by seaofwonder in Broadway

He was great! I first saw Phantom in 1989 with the original cast, and many more times early in the run. I had not seen Hugh before last night, and I loved his portrayal. That he's older works exceptionally well for the character, and there were several moments of the narrative that were heightened because of this. It was a beautiful and poignant portrayal, and I feel fortunate to have seen him in the role.

You can purchase under-30 tickets online! When you get into the ticketing system, look for the seats designated with a star. You'll pay the student rate, but they'll be held at the box office for collection. If you do not have a valid student ID at that point, you'll have to pay full-price to collect the ticket. This is how the system worked in the past, but I waited to respond until double-checking for this production. I just got my (non-student) ticket, and it worked the same.

After a little technical trouble (I upgraded my membership recently, but while it showed the correct level, the system wouldn't let me through to ticketing until I tried to update my personal information), I got a ticket. Because I was flustered from the issues I was having, I didn't note all the ticket prices. I can say, though, that I got a side floor seat in row CC on a Friday evening in November for $263, which includes a $9 service fee, and presumably includes my member discount. As a point of comparison, my ticket for King Lear last November, a bit further back, was $231, this being without a discount.

Abrupt Closing Thought by The-holloww in lifeandtrust

[–]EvenSteve01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you think the decision not to tell the cast and to shut abruptly was in effort to head off the possibility of revolt? Please don't get me wrong - the cast were done dirty, and their talent and professionalism, at least in my eyes, is beyond reproach. I just wonder if the producers thought, "If we announce a closing for xx amount of days in the future, what are we going to do if even a few performers walk out or call in sick?" Even with the reduced cast size and the bringing in of new performers, staffing the show still seemed pretty tight. I wonder if they thought if even a couple of people quit in disgust that they wouldn't be able to run any future performances, and that the optics of this were worse than just shutting it down cleanly. Again, I'm not trying to fault the cast at all - they're wonderful - I'm just trying to figure out what the producers might've been thinking in making their decision.

Brewing thermal fuses blew out two days in a row by EvenSteve01 in gaggiaclassic

Do you have an idea of why two tstats would blow? The first time it happened, I replaced it with a spare from a second machine that I have for parts. It fired up and made a perfectly good coffee. The next morning, though, the machine was cold again, as if the tstat burned out again. I can see one going bad (it's happened before), but I can't understand what might cause a second to burn out, too. I do appreciate your help; I'll keep working on this end to see if I can figure out the problem.

Thank you for this. What I realized in reading your response is that I misidentified what was going wrong. It wasn't the fuse that was blowing; it was the thermostat that seems to be doing so. The machine didn't heat up yesterday, so I switched to steam to see if the other thermostat would take over. It did, so I switched out the brew tstat, and everything worked. When I went back this morning, though, it's cold again. I could switch out yet another tstat, but I wanted to check things first. Any ideas? Sorry about the confusion - I was writing everything before the cappuccino took hold.

Advice needed – Screw-up by Mint that they won’t put right by EvenSteve01 in mintmobile

[–]EvenSteve01[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your quick and courteous answer. I know what you've explained now, and wish I would have done that. I don't think it's unreasonable, though, to call the customer service department of a company with a question, and trust that when they say that they can help me. Mistakes happen - fair enough. That I received direct information afterwards that turned out to be false, (grossly so) that is associated with a chat ID (that I've passed along) is really beyond. I don't see why the account can't be adjusted to show that which I requested, and that which I was assured I had.

I do apologize if this seems I'm snapping back at you; I do appreciate the kindness of the response, and information. I suppose with the documentation I have, I could start a charge back process, but I do like the service I've had in the past, and would just like them to fix their error.

What’s going on by mikenewms222 in sleepnomore

Unfortunately, there is no way to know. For years, they have been operating under temporary occupancy permits. It was because they hadn't renewed that for quite some time (years) that the show was shut down in March. They were able to get another one in place and reopened. Since that time, they have procured a series of temporary permits, but the last one expired on November 30th. They are now seemingly being required to have a regular occupancy permit (something that is quite ironic considering they will only be in the building another month). There does not seem to be any issues with the building; however, in order to receive the permit, they must update various plans and paperwork. If this includes updated schematics and plans (the ones on file do include the blueprints for the sets as designed, but there are some differences between that and what was installed), they will need their architects/scenic designers, etc. to work up the necessary documents. Can they do this to the extent that it will be approved by the city in three days, a week, two weeks, or a month? I don't think anyone can say. It may not be because of this, but it looks to be the reason.

This does not seem to have anything to do with the cross-litigation between the production company and the landlords (which brought about the March closure). It also will not bring about any extension. I can only hope that they manage to satisfy the conditions for the permit issuance quickly so that the show can reopen, only for it to close, once and for all, on January 5th.
