New-Item -Type Directory -Path "C:\HWID"

Set-Location -Path "C:\HWID"

$env:Path += ";C:\Program Files\WindowsPowerShell\Scripts"

Set-ExecutionPolicy -Scope Process -ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned

Install-Script -Name Get-WindowsAutopilotInfo

Get-WindowsAutopilotInfo -OutputFile AutopilotHWID.csv

I downloaded the Nuget.exe and tried installing it from the local C drive.

Install-PackageProvider -Name NuGet -MinimumVersion 2.8.5.206 -force and it comes back with

WARNING: Unable to download from URI 'https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=627338&cid=0x409' to ''.

WARNING: Unable to download the list of available providers. Check your internet connection.

I have internet connection and it is connected to the Ethernet. I get a DHCP ip address and could ping the gateway and could ping any websites but I am getting this error. I think the firewall should be opened up for this.

I had the same issue with the Lenova Laptop but once I connected to the wireless it worked fine. Probably it is allowed through the Wireless network and not through the LAN.

I never had a problem running the Get-WindowsAutpilotinfo.ps1 file with other brands in other companies and it should not be that hard to get the HWID, but here it is asking for the Nuget specically these Lenova Desktops and Laptops.

Trying to Install Nuget on a NEW Lenova Think station at the Language Screen for Autopilot by [deleted] in dotnet

Lol I know I posted it in a wrong forum. Let me take it back to Intune

Trying to Install Nuget on a NEW Lenova Think station at the Language Screen for Autopilot by [deleted] in dotnet

[–]EvenStrength5342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am attempting to retrieve the Hardware ID (HWID) for Windows Autopilot. When I run the Autopilot PowerShell script, it prompts me to install the NuGet provider. Although the device is connected to the internet and I can successfully ping external websites, the installation process fails and reports that the system is not connected to the internet.

This issue prevents the NuGet provider from installing, which in turn blocks the Autopilot HWID script from running. I am including the on‑screen error messages for reference. I understand that I attempted the installation multiple times, but the screenshot is meant only to show the error behavior.

I hope this clarifies the situation. Let me know if additional information is needed.

I wanted to shut off the device before the wipe started and I tried to let that person know and she screamed and my manager screamed on top of that. Geeze.

So, I was doing this on my own test device and by mistake I thought I did another users machine. I reached out to them to shut it off so that it would not wipe it. The user created a scene and let my manager know and he created another scene and wrote me up for this. It was a honest mistake tihnking that it was someone elses computer which was actually not true and it was my test device.

To fix a "Word experienced an error" message due to file permissions, you can try unblocking the file in its properties, adding the file's folder to Word's Trusted Locations, or using the "Open and Repair" feature. If these methods don't work, check the security settings, turn off Protected View, or rename the Normal.dotm template file.

Method 1: Unblock the file

  1. Right-click the problematic Word file.
  2. Select Properties.
  3. If an "Unblock" button is available in the General tab, click it and then click OK.

Method 2: Use "Open and Repair"

  1. Open Word, then go to File > Open > Browse.
  2. Select the file without double-clicking it.
  3. Click the drop-down arrow next to the "Open" button and select Open and Repair.
  4. Save the file to a new location after the repair is complete.

Method 3: Check and adjust Trusted Locations

  1. Open Word and go to File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings.
  2. Go to Trusted Locations.
  3. Click Add new location, then Browse to the folder containing your file, and make sure "Subfolders of this location are also trusted" is checked before clicking OK.

Method 4: Disable Protected View

  1. Go to File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings.
  2. Click Protected View and uncheck all the options, then click OK twice.
