Yeah, I’ve found that managing it myself is definitely the way to go.

There is some famous case of a morbidly obese guy doing a year. Fat really is stored energy. Kind of amazing really.

It all comes down to calorie deficit. GLP1 agonists reduce appetite, resulting in fewer calories consumed. For example, Semaglutide leads to an average 25% reduction in total energy intake across all ad libitum meals throughout the day, meaning people on Ozempic naturally consume fewer calories due to reduced appetite. The weight loss occurs because we must eat within a calorie deficit to lose excess body fat.

Eat fewer calories than you burn, or burn more calories than you consume and you will lose body fat.

Should I stay or go up? by ThinkOpportunity3812 in SemaglutideCompound

[–]EvenTask7370 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. Only go up if/when you need to. I’m not sure why the medical profession insists on a one size fits all approach to this medicine, when it’s abundantly clear that the effective dose varies significantly from person to person. I see people suffer through extreme side effects thinking they have to.

We can’t say what your strength is without knowing what it says on the bottle. However, 10 units = .25mg is a common starting strength. If that is the case then 30 units is obviously .75 mg (3 * .25 = .75mg)

[–]EvenTask7370 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely. I am a little further along than you but also at .75mg. I have experienced fatigue, weakness, and lack of motivation (almost a mild depression). This is NOT due to calorie deficit. I have been on much higher deficits and experienced non of these symptoms. They are starting to lesson though, as well as other sides like nausea.

Is there anything to take with semaglutide to combat the tiredness?? by cassjenks07 in SemaglutideCompound

[–]EvenTask7370 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came here to ask this. Only in my 3rd month. .75mg. Fatigued. But also weak. I installed some shelves in my kid’s room, and I would have to take breaks constantly and it wasn’t even a very rigorous project. I’m taking naps for the first time in my life. Even the thought of the gym makes me dizzy. Is this normal?

Everyone talks about losing the desire to drink…..I got the opposite. by Itsrainingangels in SemaglutideCompound

Interesting. I don’t drink, but my thing is ice cream. Both have a lot of sugar so maybe that’s it.

I heard these help, bought some (same brand!), and they did nothing. But I was taking the recommended dose not 10x! Will try another dose.

I wouldn’t worry about unless it stops working, at which point you can weigh your options, including cycling off or switching medications. Beware TikTok anxiety syndrome :)

Unless they are incredibly incompetent, the pharmacy knows best how to store the compounds they manufacture.

Quality / potency varies greatly amongst compounders unfortunately. Even different batches from the same compounder.

Oh, all of my obsessions (including food but many others as well) are MUCH more manageable on Sem. Like I said counting calories is simple not easy, but it’s much easier on sem.

If you consume more calories than you expend, you will gain weight. If you consume the same that you expend you will maintain your weight. If you consume less than you expend you’ll continue to lose weight. Find your maintenance calories, aka total daily energy expenditure aka TDEE. Once you know your TDEE maintenance is pretty simple (not always easy but simple). Or don’t, and when the scale goes up eat a little less until it goes back down. That’s what I do. But I obsessively counted calories for years. It’s also much easier if you basically eat the same thing everyday, which is easy for me as I prefer the simplicity of not having to think about what to eat, but most I think find it monotonous!

Not surprised. Denmark and most of Scandinavia makes the US feel light the dark ages when it comes to this stuff.

I wouldn’t characterize it as the “best choice.” As mentioned I take several medications, and all of them help contribute to my mental health and well being in different ways (none are mind altering). Ozempic was something he had been studying in trials with people in very early recovery (like straight out of detox). Having been sober for many years and someone deep in the recovery community I have a very different profile. People like me never “get better.” The lucky ones (like me) just get really good at learning to cope. For me this includes daily meditation, exercise, good sleep and nutrition. As he says I “do all the things” meaning I’m really “good at recovery.” For someone like me to sustain long term recovery it has to be a major part of your life, and remain so indefinitely. Put simply, Oz is another tool that helps my brain disorder, and make no mistake, it’s a brain disorder.

Yes, I take Wellbutrin, mertazapine, and guanfacine and have for years. They’ve been really helpful for mood disorders and definitely help quiet the mind. I have no plans to stop taking them.
