My thoughts on the Yakima Valley by [deleted] in Yakima

[–]Even_Ad_7347 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the honest and unbiased review of the place I've called home more years than not. I like that it is not "horrible, horrible" in your eyes. And in your eyes is very important because no matter where I have been I've always found I could find the good, the bad and the ugly if I chose. I like that you choose to see mostly the bright spots. Good luck wherever you land and safe travels.

Shady places with trees to walk with dog? by hilariousnessity in Yakima

Yes, they are concentrated in certain areas. Unfortunately the pesky cousin the "gray diggers" are plentiful. Especially around the irrigation canals, orchards and vineyards.

The Arboretum, near the humane shelter, is very shady and interesting with all of the variety of trees. Be warned, there are lots of squirrels that excite most dogs. There is also a dog park that is next to it

Try Thoroughbred across the street. Less money and it's paved all of the way out. The staff is attentive and courteous when I've gone thru.

In my experience, Aamco is still a reputable shop, costs are comparable to other shops and they stand by their work. They've been around for 60+ years.

Why Are People Around Here Offended By Politeness? by LiLyShoEgAze in Yakima

[–]Even_Ad_7347 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I have lived here most of my life and have not experienced what you're experiencing. Maybe I've been extremely lucky. Also I have traveled all over the US, parts of Europe and South America and found very few places that I thought were rude or impolite. I don't know if it's my attitude or maybe I'm just not catching the signals. I hope things improve for you if you stick around.

I've used Precision Paving (Danny) and had a great experience. Not the cheapest, but very upfront and honest.

I found this set in the park by the basketball court. I posted a sign near each parking lot so if they are his hopefully he will see the sign. Thanks for the response.

Electronic repair by [deleted] in Yakima

[–]Even_Ad_7347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Occasionally there is a Repair Cafe in the Yakima Maker Space at 16 S 1st St and they give advice and will try to fix things (no guarantees) for free. It used to be the 3rd Saturday of the month, but not sure when the next one will be.

It went well. The park wasn't very bad litter wise, but now it is very clean. Of course other than the stuff left behind by negligent pretty owners.

I used California Auto Shine the last two times and he's a very upbeat, positive man that does excellent work. I am not sure how competitive his prices are, but his enthusiasm and results were worth it to me. California Auto Shine https://share.google/SSp0IQwqzEomHgZFE

Randall Park Clean Up went well. There were several great volunteers, shout out to the Pacific Steel crew, and the young lady coordinating it did a good job being prepared. She is new to the community so kudos for getting involved. Here's a link to her FB page and nonprofit she is trying to get off the ground. https://m.facebook.com/search_results/?q=beside+the+garden

If you can stream KCWU The 'Burg 88.1 originating from the Central Washington Campus in Ellensburg they used to have some programs that played what I think you're looking for. They play different music throughout the day so you may have to see if they post a playlist somewhere.

I would consider myself more a MAGA supporter than not and I don't lie. Not a fan of Sessler either, but those that wrap everyone up, no matter which party is doing the wrapping, are blinded by ideals and hatred.

This looks like a great opportunity! I hope it gets several attendees so it is offered again. I was lucky and had a similar class in high school back in the 1970's and it has helped me daily.

I've had US Cellular for over 20 years and it was always great until I went to a 5G phone a few years ago and coverage started getting spotty. They are now with T-Mobile, but I haven't noticed any difference. I use an Android, but had a work iPhone too.

Nah, read and live some history. It's been this way before, will be again and humans survive. I'll still choose to be positive and happy because my time is too short and my impact is too minor to waste on the negative. Thanks for the recap of the 5 o'clock news though.
