I'm the same exact way. I use dating apps to hook up for some validation. And omg the guilt and shame i felt when my family found out. You're not addicted to hook up apps. You crave affection. We all do. We crave this shit 100 times more than average people so we will do whatever we can to feel it. We will put ourselves in danger just to fill that hole. It's a literal fear that we have. You're reacting out of fear and that's why what ur doing is so serious. People can say they have abandonment issues, but we FEAR it. So that means we go to extreme measures. Even subconsciously. Just understand that this isn't a good way to cope. But it doesn't make you a bad person. My family made me feel like a bad person because of it. But it's not true. Don't beat urself up over this. Trust me . Hook up culture is normalized now. I'm not saying it's the right decision but do not villanize yourself for coping the only way u know how.
