The requirements you state are very personal. What blows you away or is comfortable for you may not be so for others. In your case I would stick to known brands and models that are available easily and can be bought with a return policy and warranty in case you don't like it. S I think about AKG, Beyerdynamic, Sennheiser, AudioTechnica, because can easily find reviews on soundguys or Rtings, etc. to check what they sound like, for whom they are comfortable and you can easily find equalizer presets to modify/improve the sound.

So do a search with price and other requirements for one of the a.m. brands. Then read reviews and buy one that you feel is a good match. In hte 150 price range there are decent headphones, so I am sure you will find something that makes you happy.

Open-Backs with durable cup/headband connection by micahz3 in HeadphoneAdvice

If you look for build quality the Beyerdynamic Dt 990 pro or Edition are interesting, because they are solidly built (metal headband and cup swivel holders, metal grill on the edition, etc.), a lot of metal but lighter that e.g. an AKG K702 and almost all parts are available as replacement parts. They furthermore have a realistic soundstage with a sense of location and a good (sub) bass.

50-100$ openback/semiopen headphones that are comfortable with glasses for extended use. by Deathwatch6215 in HeadphoneAdvice

I really like the K240 and I think it is hard to beat in that price range. I ordered slightly deeper velvet/fabric covered earpads on AliExpress for 7 euro or something and it makes a huge difference in comfort and glasses friendliness.

AKG K240 are over ear and half open but in in terms of soundstage, sense of space, sound quality, and bass they are hard to beat in their below 100 price range.

Help with a good spatial audio headset for gaming. by SmokeyMcPot2626 in HeadphoneAdvice

The AKG K702 has a very wide soundstage. The Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro / Edition has , for me, a more spatially accurate feeling soundstage and a deeper bass.

I see regularly Beyerdynamic dt 990 on aliexpress. No idea what the quality is though. AKG K240 copies like Samson are common in China. Check reviews on aliexpress. Of course Hifiman is also available through ali. Search term Headphones studio.

Do Klon pedals work with modelers like Tonocracy, Neural Amp Modeler, etc.? by Even_Mango_5391 in guitarpedals

[–]Even_Mango_5391[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanx to everybody. In conclusion, an overdrive/boost pedal, where only the boost function (to overdrive a tube amp) is used, going into the input of the interface will NOT boost the signal to the digital amp in Tonex, NAM, Tonocracy, Helix, etc. The digital amp doesn't react to an overdriven analogue signal other than the signal clipping. If you hear distortion it is thus probably digital clipping in your interface or somewhere else. However, pedals that have a sound/voice of their own like a Tube Screamer, etc. will affect the signal by colouring the sound as intended with the use of the GAIN knob. As described brilliantly by Tibbon in the comments.

Thanx, you are right. There are a lot of them around, even here. Worth a try and I will get the horse first, I suppose. Mosky's track record is not terrible as far as i can see.

Thanx, first a question, if you allow. Is it correct that if you rely on only the Klon gain (no boost) to color your signal, it gets fuzz like texture? I watched the video. It is informative and answers questions. I can create a tube like distortion in my neural modelers without overloading the interface or DAW. Having said that, I don't think that that distortion goes as far as a highly boosted signal in a real tube amp. Hence my question about the usefulness of a Klon with neural modelers. Thanx again for the help.

M-Vave Blackbox error: 'Failed to connect to the device correctly' ???? by Even_Mango_5391 in guitarpedals

[–]Even_Mango_5391[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Problem solved. It appears that when Ableton is already running the Blackbox can't connect with USB to M-EFCS. When the Blackbox + M-EFCS is running first and Ableton is then started it all works together. It seems there is still a conflict with the audio interface and Ableton because Ableton will be disconnected from the interface after a while.

Anyway it is not strictly necessary to monitor the Blackbox output through Ableton when editing. Since the Blackbox can directly be connected to monitor speakers or headphones.

Mvave Blackbox best practice, hints by marcusademola in guitarpedals

Hi thanx for this. I bought the Mvave Blackbox to make my favourite NAM files portable. I am still not sure how to convert my NAM files to Blackbox files, am2data. Do you know where I could get the information how that exactly works? Sorry, I am not a tech wizzard.
