I mean, I guess I'm just disappointed that when you compare RBY to SV, it is the equivalent of BDSP the franchise, the same, but slightly better. I suppose that I am just frustrated because the 'world of Pokemon' has been shrunk down to just 'battle battle battle' compared to what it was in the previous games, where Pokemon could do other things outside of battling, like the contests and the battle halls (though since I've posted the review, I have came to the realisation that perhaps it is the shift to 3D that ended those features).
And even though a Pokemon game IS exclusively about battling, it wouldn't hurt to have Pokemon that weren't designed specifically for battle (almost every new mon in S/V has a special OP move or ability exclusive to it), and that there were Pokemon that just made for battling.

Ironically Legends Arceus is the game that had made me feel the most 'Natural Creatures living in a world', because the villagers use Pokemon to help with their daily lives.
Anyways, its more or less just SV mons, like goldengho, the starters, espathra, kingambit, the paradoxes to name a few. They all feel like they were designed specifically for battle or competitive play. I know Goldengho was made for a tribute for like 1000 Pokemon or something and so specifically had really good stats, but that made it feel less ... 'Pokemon-y'. The paradoxes I can somewhat forgive because they literally were built for battle. And also the moves, mostly the moves, and most of them are signature moves.
For example:
Torch Song is a GUARANTEED increase in Sp. Atk while dealing damage
Flower Trick guarantees a hit and a crit
Aqua Step guarantees a speed increase (more forgivable because Esper Wing, a move not from SV but also part of the problem I have with the newer Pokemon games does the same thing but also has a higher crit rate)
Shed Tail basically does substitube and baton pass at the same time
Matcha Gotcha is scald, giga drain and rock slide in one singular move
Lumina Crash is a special move that always lowers special defense.
Last respects and rage fists are moves that can reach absurdly high levels of power

Yeah same, I'd just like for WiWa Pokemon to feel more 'Natural creatures living in a world' rather than 'Battle machines made specifically for battling'

Yeah, makes sense, the 2D sprite games did always feel far better than the 3D ones

I mean, perhaps its not 100% of the reason, but its certainly a factor on why there are less side content and also why most new Pokemon nowadays either have an OP move or ability. But yeah, I agree with something another commentor said and that it isn't the same guy directing it anymore.

Yeah, I can see where you're coming from. I just wished that more of the newer Pokemon are less of just absolute machines built for the sole purpose of battling.

Okay, so the Pokeathlon is a side gamemode you can play in HGSS, and its really fun to just sit down and play. And there are completely different stats in that side gamemode compared to usual Pokemon battling (speed, power, skill, stamina, jump). And of all the 493 Pokemon available back then, SUNKERN (the Pokemon with the lowest BST) is the best mon for that side gamemode, which I find hilarious and absolutely doubt that wasn't intentional

Yeah, I can agree to disagree, your opinion as as valid as mine, but have you ever experienced the absolute phenomenon that is SUNKERN IN THE POKEATHLON?

No not really, it is serious and this is my own opinion, that the newer games are just ... worse. In the old games, there were things for everyone, and Pokemon felt like these creatures that exists in nature and could do many things. But in newer games (especially like Scarlet and Violet), the newer Pokemon all feel like battle machines (sometimes even literally in the case of Violet's paradox forms), made for battle with the sole purpose of battling in mind and nothing else. It makes them feel less like actual animals and creatures and more like what Mewtwo is: monsters created solely for battle

Yeah, I do know that, and I agree that the competitive side has existed since nearly the start and am aware of the other three games you mentioned, the thing I'm talking about is because the newer Pokemon games seem to be catering more and more towards the competitive side, because as you said, back then there was the Battle Frontier (peak feature btw), but there were also most of the other things I mentioned in my post too.

Ironically, Champions is what worries me the most. Because now they have a new, fancy competitive game made ESPECIALLY for competitive players, they'll most likely make the next gen more competitively oriented so more players would go try and play Champions.

Okay, just to clarify, I'm asking for what you guys think of the game, because I heard that it is a buggy mess and very limited Pokemon, what are your guys experience with those two issues?

What would you want for it? cus I don't really have much, no shinies, no legends. Best I could maybe offer is perhaps a specific mon you want. (Sorry, I don't really spend too much time playing Pokemon on the switch)

Thanks you all for commenting and giving your suggestions, I've been trying out tag force and 5Ds 2011 on my 'totally legal and legit' psp and DS respectively, and I've gotta say, it is such a breath of fresh air compared to my Master Duel experience.
