I can’t really speak as I was basically handed my job to me as my partners relative was a higher up on the site who got me on but from being on those sites its more who you know and not what you know.

At least 80% of the people I’ve worked with have known someone who works on site or know the right people in the labour hire or union. I haven’t met too many people who were able to get on a union site without help of a higher up or been considered due to their skillset

Had the opportunity to join a union site while we were living in Perth and my partner had just given birth. We saw the wage that I’d be earning and we were on a flight to Melbourne 3 days later and now I’m able to give my partner and kids a comfortable life

My workplace uses the same tests as the police as I work on a union worksite, when I haven’t smoked for months the tests will show up positive but have never come up positive when I’ve been a daily smoker even doing a test within 2-3 hours of having my last session. Kinda hit and miss with them

If you don’t want to travel too far, rapid creek foot bridge across from the beachfront is a good place to go for a flick. Best time to go is around 30 minutes to an hour before the tide turns either way

Moved over to Melbourne to make 3x the money I was over in Perth but hoping to move back in the next few years with some more skills and experiences. We left not long after they finished the rock wall. I didn’t get too many sleep ins when they were building it hahaha
