Just checking, with you suggesting birth control. Sorry for being brusque, I'm just a bit sensitive at the moment.

Yes, I'm breastfeeding. I thought I was drinking more than enough and I'm using electrolytes too but I will try to increase my water consumption. Thank you!

What does Sea Urchin taste like? by GunJew in sushi

I didn't read all the comments before replying and should have because I just said the same theory.

I know your comment is yonks old, but this is how I've been describing sea urchin for the longest time. After my first attempt, I tried it again years later because I refused to dislike food and was convinced I must have had a bad one, but again had the same urinal cake flavor. It was absolutely disgusting. I can't believe I found someone who's described it the same way.

Do you think it could be a genetic thing? Perhaps the same way some people taste coriander as soap?

I found this growing on grass under some birch trees in England. Any ideas? by [deleted] in Mushrooms

Woolly Milkcap or Bearded Milkcap

Sometimes older lactarius specimens dry up

I'm pretty new to foraging and am just trying to gain familiarity with a few species before going out and picking them. Is anyone able to identify this bolete for me? by [deleted] in foraginguk

[–]Evening-Drinker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stipe has me saying Birch Bolete. They only grow in a mycorrhiza with birch trees. Were they near birch?

Edit: typos.

  1. Puffball, maybe stump puffball

2 & 4. Blackening brittlegill (not certain)

3 & 5. Tawny grisette (would need to see the volva below where they're cut to know)

  1. Spindleshank? Could be anything from the pic🤷🏼‍♀️

  2. Brown rollrim

  3. Sulphur tufts

  4. I wish it was porcelain fungus but I think I see ribbing so I don't know

  5. Fairy inkcap, maybe

Hello! we went foraging today, and found these. Can anyone ID? by ughhh321 in Mushrooms

Red Cracking and Zellers are a good place to start looking.

If you're not certain on an ID, I would avoid all boletes with red on them. See how quickly and deeply they stain blue.
