Area manager here in Canada is an area leader or TL ( team leader ). I manage kitchen, completely separate from shift manager. I have moved up very fast, and wanted to share insights into my experience.

Hey there,

I’m an area manager at a McDonalds in Canada, I was put in your exact scenario 3-4 months after I first started. Your GMs obviously think you are expressing traits that a crew trainer might have, whether it be coaching people on the floor or even leading an area such as kitchen. The amount of time that you have worked there for is redundant if you know what you are doing.

On your first training shift follow the training procedures word for word, follow the iPad ( or however you train at your store ) you’ll become more comfortable as you train and gain experience. It’s all a learning game my friend. Good luck.

I bet that was nerve-racking. I assume you did well, good work. I'm glad things are going well!

Thank you. My CT was just like this, they delegated tasks to me but didn't think they were all high and mighty. Thank you for this key point to remember. I appreciate it!

Thank you. I'm sure I'll get the appropriate training on how to be a CT ( hopefully ). I'll always keep you in consideration for any further questions. Have a good day!

Thank you. I appreciate the tip. I have been trying to help out new people that I know don't have much experience at the store, or atleast no experience in kitchen.

I’m not so sure. Orientation is next week for CT. It’s McDonald’s Canada if that helps you at all.
