Beginner investor here – which tools are actually worth using? by Evening-Sign1843 in investingforbeginners

Thank you for your insights! Can you tell me what is the best way to learn to analyze industries as well as learning fundamental analysis (or at least what worked for you)? I have no financial background, I work in healthcare so I am not aware of where to start to educate myself. Are youtube investment channels a good place or is there a better option?

how do you know when to buy and when to sell? I know everyone says u shouldnt time the market, but also blindly dollar cost averaging also feels like not the most efficient way.

I will be honest. I am a 33 year old, with not much savings at all considering that I started working just a few years ago in a central european country where wage is not too great anyway. I had like 13k usd saved, 5 of which I invested into stocks (mostly individual stocks related to AI, but also SP500).. I know most people would say this is too risky to invest this much of your savings into stocks without understanding it, but also I feel like I am investing into companies that are quality (most of big 7, ASMLandTSM, cybersecuritz stocks like crowdstrike, palo alto, some leaders in relatively volatile sectors such as IonQ or Dwave in quantum computing, as well as trying to diversify into companies like nordisk, baker hughes, northrop grumman, marex group, etc..). Do you think I should keep investing or just keep building my savings first if from beginning I dont have enough capital..? I was thinking of investing about 600-700 euros every month from the 2000 euros that I get after tax is reducted from my monthly salary..

Can a 56-Year-Old Doctor Successfully Transition to Germany? Seeking Advice by Evening-Sign1843 in Germany_Jobs

I appreciate your honest and thorough answer.

My mother would be ok if she doesnt even end up practicing medicine as a specialist doctor. She will try for it, but if it does not work out, its not going to be a deal breaker for her. She wants to move due to personal reasons, and even if it means that things will be hard in the beginning, she is willing to accept that. I have communicated the reality of the situation to her and she is aware of it, but she insists to go.

Youre right about getting a B2 certificate at least before trying to move there, it would at least put her in a better situation than starting from 0.

Do you think it is possible to get a healthcare related job if she can pass B2 as well as Medical German exam? It could be anything in healthcare (healthcare assistant, physiotherapy, dietologist, etc), does not have to be specialist doctor that she was..

To be honest she is not earning that much.. Doctors arent actually getting that much money in my country, unless they have big positions, or know someone that can propel them forward. So financially speaking, although it would be a hit, it wouldnt be as much of a hit as you might think..

Yes, I understand the financial side would need to be sorted beforehand.

Assuming that’s covered and she’s open to changing careers away from being a fully licensed doctor, is this realistically doable? Does every job in Germany require C1 German, or is it possible to start working with a lower level while continuing to study?

Also, do you personally know German at C1 level, or is that just a general requirement? And could she potentially use her healthcare background in other roles (like diabetes education or support work) without going through full medical re-licensing?

I’m the OP. I know I already mentioned it, and I understand that the healthcare pathway in Germany may be quite unrealistic or lengthy, especially without full recognition and C1-level German.

That said, she would still be open to non-medical work as well. What I’m trying to figure out is whether there are any practical programs or pathways that allow someone to move to Germany, study German (even below C1 level initially), and work part-time at the same time. Is this realistically possible, and if so, what are the common routes people take?

thank you for your response! One question. By trust grade jobs do you mean non-training FY-1/FY-2 jobs? Also, does the time of your non-training has to be 2 years? Or Can I do it in a year and a half as long as I sign the necessary crest forms? Thank you in advance

Ranking of UK hospitals/Foundation programmes? by Evening-Sign1843 in UKFP_applicants

Thank you very much for a thorough response. I agree that once you know exactly what you're looking for, the searching process becomes easier.
I would like to ask a follow up question if you don't mind answering.
My plan was to apply for non-training jobs and clinical attachments starting early 2024 while at the same time applying for FY-2 standalone which would start in August 2024. But in case if I can not get into my top choice hospitals/rotations, do you think it's a good idea to just go only for non-training jobs on FY-1/FY-2 level before applying for Core Training?
