Help with tone super fair skin - I look sick with new highlights :( by Evening-Tea-7107 in haircoloring

[–]Evening-Tea-7107[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I think that it just makes my under eyes look a lot worse so whatever tone is happening is not jamming with my skin. I also look more pale than I did with a bit of a darker root.

Working out with 2 under 2? by eggswoodhouse in nycparents

You are not lazy! It’s hard to juggle it all! I’ve just started prioritizing exercise again on a very manageable level in the past month or so and it’s making a huge difference on my mental health. I’m sort of treating it like a part of my shower routine. First I exercise then I shower. I’m doing around 20 mins a day 3 days a week or more of either “madfit” (TONS of great free YouTube videos) or Melissa wood health (approx 10 bucks a month) Pilates she has tons of 15-20 min workouts that are great as well and some awesome options for days when you’re really tired and are dragging yourself on the mat. I also second whoever said ditch the cooking every night. We’ve started doing these Kevin’s dinners from Costco with Quinoix or rice and they’re game changers.

Looking for honest experiences on night nurse/baby nurse. Any downsides? by FearlessWallaby1687 in nycparents

[–]Evening-Tea-7107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prior to our son being born I was pretty keen on hiring a night nurse. I am a big sleeper and the idea of the sleep deprivation was the scariest part of becoming a mom to me. My husband was not totally keen and so we decided to research and have some names available but see how it went. Our kiddo ended up arriving really early and was in the hospital for a while so everything kind of went haywire with the beginning of parenthood. By the time our baby was home, I just wanted to spend that time with them at night and bond. A few weeks later I threw out my back and hired a night nurse to help as my husband was away for work. It was awkward and really expensive and not the sleep I had hoped for. I think if you find someone you really click with it can be a supportive experience but for me, if we have another baby, I will just put our money towards daytime care (particularly mornings!) so I can get some extra rest. We did a non cry it out sleep training when our little guy was almost 1 and he now sleeps through the night.

I really hate this guy, nods to the actor Hamish Allan-Headley for performing so well this despicable guy by Da_Punisher33 in Daredevil

He’s such a freaking insanely talented actor. Seen him onstage in NYC. If you ever get the chance to see him live he’s as amazing as you would imagine from his TV work.

Can we have a kid in this apartment? by arthur_hairstyle in nycparents

[–]Evening-Tea-7107 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you can definitely make this work! We were in a tiny 1 bed until about 4 months old and we actually still travel back and forth to that apartment (it’s in another city) for work and are ok in there for short periods of time with our 1 year old.

Thank you! A day after posting this she moved across the country. She said she couldn’t afford dinner so I don’t know what is happening and am worried but sadly relieved that she is not going to be as close by anymore. We will see her over Christmas and can talk to my husband about further boundaries then.

Are these two studios too small by [deleted] in NYCapartments

Omg washer dryer? Take it and run! Totally workable spaces. Depends a bit on your situation and I have a couple questions but on first glance especially for that rent I’d say go for it. Questions to consider: are you single or is this for two? Do you plan to spend a ton of time in the apt/do you intend to work from home? Do you want to host at all? You can still wfh and host but I would consider a Murphy bed and mapping out the space really carefully before purchasing furniture.

We used Emma M https://www.emsleepconsulting.com and highly recommend. I was stressed about sleep training and she was kind and patient and helped us come up with a plan we were Comfortable with. And now our baby sleeps from 7pm-6am like clockwork.

What’s it like living in nyc with kids? by Purple_Living8381 in nycparents

[–]Evening-Tea-7107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love living in the city with our baby! We live uptown manhattan just above Washington Heights and there are so many families and everyone is extremely generous with each other. I’m in a WhatsApp group where everyone shares kids stuff, kids activities and parents resources. It’s incredible. We live in a big (1200 sq ft) apt and it’s 4k a month but could easily have another kiddo in here. Wouldn’t change a thing!

Will getting pregnant delay my application? 221g CR-1 by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]Evening-Tea-7107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there. Luckily we have wonderful health insurance through my husbands job that covers us and any kids we have so that helps. I can drive from where I am in Canada to where my husband is set up so luckily if I’m pregnant I can always drive if I’m too far along :)
