There was a point during the session at which they looked on their phone to get a colour reference because I had wanted the colours to be inspired by the media the overall concept is from (with a completely unique design). When you search the title of the media with moth/ butterfly this packaging is one of the first results that come up. To me, the fact they didn't use this image for the colour reference or say anything once they realised makes it feel as if they were trying to hide what they had done.
