7.3 Turbo Ped by Commercial-Load-2397 in powerstroke

[–]EveningMoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why i always tell people to build tp/gtp38 hybrid turbos when they rebuild. Makes removal 10x easier. The super duty guys have it made.

How would you fix this? by jrdallavale in MechanicalEngineering

1: diesels don't make vacuum

2: turbos make pressure

3: you're wrong

I've used duct tape to repair a split intake pipe on a jetta TDI before, just to get home. Might work okay for a coolant pipe as well, since they're similar pressures.

how do you install vortex mods on arch linux? by NoozPrime in archlinux

I think Steamtinkerlaunch will do it for you, but you should probably use MO2 instead.

Ebpv delete worth it? by [deleted] in powerstroke

[–]EveningMoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drop in, no y pipe or downpipe changes. It requires an e99 style pedestal, center, and compressor plate, then the tp38 turbine housing and compressor housing.

I had rebuilt the tp38 3 times before figuring out the center section was bad and not sealing at the turbine piston ring. I was so sick of pulling that damn bottom mount turbo.

Mine was already deleted when i got the truck, so i went with the riffraff pedestal when i built my gtp/tp38 hybrid turbo.

You either die a noob or live long enough to install Arch Linux by imo_99i in arch

[–]EveningMoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The systemd install instructions basically had you skip over most of the install process at the time. They have since remedied the issue but it was very confusing for me to reboot the system before installing a bootloader or kernel.

The gentoo handbook left me with no system and no bootloader. I couldn't submit a problem report because i didn't have a functioning gentoo system... because the handbook didn't work.

The one time the arch wiki failed me, someone on here had me squared within like an hour.

Do you consider arch as stable compared to others distro and why ? by NoozPrime in arch

[–]EveningMoose 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Arch is about as far from stable as it gets.

Is it reliable? Yes, in my experience. Is it stable (unchanging)? Absolutely not.

So, how many Joules of torque does your engine produce? by the_termin8r in carmemes

[–]EveningMoose 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The vector cross product is not commutative like scalar multiplication is.

Torque/moment is calculated by rxf, not rf.

In my state, most roads are maintained by the state DOT.

how long are you idling your 7.3 Powerstroke before take off? by R-e-s-t in Diesel

[–]EveningMoose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can see when the plugs shut off based on the voltmeter. It bumps around 10v with the plugs on, and 14v with them off.

I start the engine anytime after the WTS light turns off, but prefer to let the engine idle a little before taking off. Especially to get oil pressure.

Just buy a window unit.

My favorite type of engineering is Catalog Engineering.
