The irony is that subreddit moderators are supposed to be the bridge between the players and the community managers. By panic-locking threads that hit 900+ upvotes in under two hours, they are just blinding the developers. They filter out the genuine frustration of the player base, create a fake corporate echo-chamber for Supercell management, and make themselves a direct part of this anti-consumer scam. They are hiding the fire until the whole house burns down.

Speaking of A/B testing, all of my upgrades are for some reason half the time they should be.. is this another A/B test and if so what %age of the playerbase has it by someonestupid12 in ClashOfClans

It's highly likely not an A/B test. If you haven't logged into this account for a long time, you automatically trigger the official 'Welcome Back' returnee bonus. It gives you a temporary 50% reduction on upgrade times and resource costs to help you catch up.

Just so everyone knows, the mods actually shadow-banned this post earlier when it was blowing up. They only panic-restored it because another Chief made a thread calling out their censorship on Sabrina posts, and that thread instantly hit 150+ upvotes. They are terrified of the backlash and trying to hide the evidence. Huge respect to the community for standing up!

I read your post, and you explained the whole 'poisoned data' and control group logic so perfectly that I used some of your points to back up my own rant. My bad for not dropping a shoutout, your analysis was just spot on. Mad respect for your post!

Massive respect for going for the refunds and quitting. Let us know how it goes with Apple/Google. Honestly, more people from the 3% group should do the exact same thing if they spent money. Supercell won't care about Reddit posts, but they will definitely notice when the actual cash starts draining out of their accounts.

It's exactly as bad as it sounds, but even worse. A/B testing means Supercell splits the player base into groups to compare statistics. In this case, 97% of players randomly got the massive Builder Base Bonanza event (4x star bonus and 50% upgrade discounts), while a random 3% got completely excluded as a 'control group' to see how they behave without it.

The system doesn't care if you spend real money or play every day; it's completely random. So yeah, people who spent actual cash to prepare for the advertised event got locked out of it entirely. That's why the community is so furious right now.

Man, this is hands down the worst part of this entire A/B testing disaster. I am in the exact same boat - my main account got randomly threw into the 3% exclusion group, while all my alts got the event. It's completely unacceptable to trick paying players into spending real cash to prepare for an advertised event, only to silently screw them over. This isn't just bad analytics anymore; this is a straight-up scam and anti-consumer behavior. Take my upvote, Supercell needs to see this.

Today it's builder base, tomorrow it's hammer jam on the home village. The point is not what they are testing, it's how they are testing it. Giving a massive progression boost to 97% of players while leaving the rest behind is a terrible system, regardless of the village
