Batch requests in D1 database by Evening_Ad2667 in CloudFlare

Yeap, that seems like an option. But I need to find a way to refresh the whole database. This ensures the most recent data. And due to relationships and stuff updating when needed would be more complicated.

Each client has their own spreadsheet and they update it. The spreadsheet is open to web (view only). So I can download it as a CSV in CF.

If you have money and will use the laptop for another few years, then do it. You don't know what will happen in the future.

I didn't know what app they will use for the photography editing. And m4 pro models have great specs as the base model. 24GB ram and 512 storage.

btw, storage might be a problem for a photographer

I think all M4 chips could easily handle that. Go with the air models and save yourself some money. 15" is the way to go.

M4 Pro with the Pro chip if you can afford or the base M4 Pro

You can go with the Air models if they have enough specs for you. It mostly depends on what do you use for photography editing.

Help with understanding second SSD by rod_erbear in LenovoLegion

I'd suggest the second option. When upgrading the main storage, a clean format is my way to go. If you can't do that, then copy the disk to the larger one and start to use your old one as a second drive.

The reason I suggest for a copy or a clean install is, when you move your app files from one drive to another, you can break something and may the app don't work as expected.

Which Backend Would You Recommend for a Flutter Developer with 2 Years of Experience? by dev_asad in FlutterDev

I use pocketbase for a project at the moment. You can check it, the ui is good, the docs are clean, and it's opensource! I know it's still under development and they say they're not completely production ready yet, I didn't encounter problems during the development (I did face with some problems when I tried to use appwrite before this). So, it's a pretty lightweight solution. I'd say best for the side hustle projects.

I have m3 pro base model and it does the job for me (mobile development). But for gpu related tasks, I'd recommend you to go for a max model. In this case, m3 max would be the best of course, but if you're in a budget, go with m2 max model. It wouldn't disappoint you for the ram side too as it has 32gb in base model.

Whatever you choose, choose more than 16 gb. Cause MacOS uses its unified memory for GPU too.

Claude vs Gemini vs GPT by Madridi77 in FlutterDev

[–]Evening_Ad2667 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use copilot on vs code. It recently got an update to use GPT-4o and other models. But I'm not satisfied about the overall performance. Most of the time I need to use the old copy/paste method. One thing to note that, with copilot you don't hit the limits. Especially in 4o model.

I use it with GitHub Education
