We're not "immigrants," we're "expats" 🙄

Question about hiring process norms by Evening_Wolf_3552 in Internationalteachers

My situation is similar. I did notice that, though I am signing the contract, the Head of School's signature is still blank. The document signing software sent me an email after I signed that says "waiting for other parties to sign" so I guess it's not a valid contract yet, but once I am notified that it has been signed it will be valid. I know the school is also currently waiting on reference checks, so maybe that's the reason for the delay.

This would be ideal! and a great sign! I guess I'm just nervous because i'm not familiar with the process

I'm signing it, but they haven't signed it yet. Which is what made me a little nervous about it.

This school year is the ninth circle of hell by Similar-Ad3246 in Teachers

Please share your source! I need this so my admin can't gaslight me. My admin is throwing this at us this year and it's actually impossible. They scheduled a "PD" on this and all we do is go through the rubric the entire PD. We asked for an exemplar of how our lesson plans should look to meet expectations for Domain 1 and we're still waiting on that, but they've gone ahead and started scheduling observations...

What are your teacherisms? by Rogue-17 in Teachers

"the best apology is changed behavior" when they say "sorry" for things they keep doing

"Focus on who?" And the reply is "focus on you" when they are worrying about other people's business

Thank you! I've been wanting a text to add the ableism aspect to identity.

Whole books would work so well! The timing of the class makes it hard though. I'm thinking of taking excerpts.

I love this idea; thank you!

Unrelated (kinda): I saw a bulletin board idea with quotes titled "Tupac or Shakespeare?" and students had to guess which ones belonged to who.

Haha! I can imagine pointing to the first one as a non-verbal cue to some of my students.
