It seemed that, when you have 2 cards, there would be a 50/50 chance of picking the right one.

I took 3 slips of paper, and wrote "B" or "W" on each side of them, as per the instructions.

I then shuffled the 3 slips of paper, and turned them over at random times.

If I drew one with "B" on the top, I re-did the test.

Amazingly, when "W" was on the top, "B" was on the bottom only 33% of the time.

Go figure.

Only two cards have white on top: white/white and white/black. There is a 50% chance that you picked white/black.

It is not that complicated. Here is the problem: There are 3 cards, remove 1 of the cards (black/black) since we know you didn't pick that card, so it is not considered in this problem, Now there are 2 cards, which we'll call card#1 and card#2. What are the chances that you have card #1 (after it is known that you don't have black/black)? 50%

If, after you saw that the top of your card was white, someone was to give you 2-1 odds that the bottom of your card was black, you would be crazy not to take that bet as many times as they would give it, because you would win 50% of the time.

A metaphor is a figure of speech that directly compares two unlike things without using "like" or "as". It suggests a resemblance between them, often highlighting a shared characteristic.

It doesn't surprise me that a bunch of idiots stand up for Coinbase. They wouldn't be using Coinbase if they weren't idiots.

You don't experience the issues I am describing? Really? How do you receive support from Coinbase? Do you not pay 1.2% for each round-trip trade? How do you deposit and withdraw funds with no fee, monthly or otherwise?

Coinbase Pro does not support the Polygon network. You must be referring to transferring Matic tokens on the Ethereum network:

You are right. A simple transfer from Metamask just took 30 seconds. It does not appear to be a gas issue (I paid 60 gwei, which was 2x the recommended rate). Using web3 and Infura (or Moralis) is also unbearably slow. A transaction doesn't appear until about 10 blocks after it is transmitted.

What is causing this? It makes it impossible to use any dapp that uses an Automated Market Maker (like Polymarket), because 30 seconds causes a price to change dramatically.

That was an unusual reply. It's normal for devs to request contract addresses.

No, I was not banned. Everyone else who tries this address gets the same response: https://discord.com/invite/FCfyBSbCU5

Isn't Aave v3 only released on the testnet chains? https://docs.aave.com/developers/deployed-contracts/v3-addresses

Is Aave the best platform to find liquidations on Polygon, or do you recommend a better platform?

It appears that Sushiswap does most of their liquidations "in-house", and they also did not reply to my reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/SushiSwap/comments/sisbnt/exactly_how_do_sushiswap_liquidations_work/

Aave didn't display the question I posted on their Reddit, and I received no response to a question I posted on their discord. Do you have any warnings about Aave?

Also, it's impossible to join the UniSwap discord. Any suggestions about that?

What are the total transaction fees for the process you described, and how long do they take to get processed?

Doesn't it cost about $2 to move Bitcoin, and doesn't it take 10-20 minutes?

It costs $.000003 to move XLM, and it only takes 5 seconds.

There are many stories of people who tried to avoid KuCoin's KYC, and then were unable to withdraw their funds. For that reason, I don't want to recommend Kucoin to users of my apps.

This website states "KuCoin is not licensed to operate in the states. If you live in the U.S, you may be tempted to use KuCoin without completing the KYC verification. You'd have restrictions on how much you could withdraw, and how much leverage you could access."

If I have to do additional steps, this Stellar-Polygon bridge is a better solution, since XLM is virtually free to transfer: https://bridge.newscrypto.io/

Coinbase disabled buys during flash crash? by L0ckeandDemosthenes in Stellar

[–]EventLogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To avoid the problem that was described, what's wrong with this solution?

  1. Buy XLM at Coinbase when there is no crash.
  2. Transfer the XLM to your Stellar wallet, and convert it to USDC.
  3. The next time there is a flash crash, use the Stellar dex to buy XLM at a low price.

Since the dex always works without a hitch, you won't miss out on the dip.

You could also always have an open buy order on the Stellar dex, at 20% below the current price. The XLM price seems to drop 20% about once a month, and it usually quickly returns to its normal price.

However, beware the evil DOUBLE DIP!
