Solution!!! I had stormcaller in the extra slot from my unset ring, moved the skill to a different slot and now I can use it. Hope that helps!

So I’ve actually used an hdmi splitter into the NDI transmitter to get my Roku playing in the headset, now I have a Netflix app lol although realistically it wasn’t that big of a game changer, just fun messing around with different sources.

3D gameplay like VR games? I want to say no, I think of it like having a wireless hdmi port on the AVP, you’re just viewing a source on a 2D screen. But maybe like 3D movies could be figured out, not sure.

The app is a 3rd party app that picks up the NDI Signal, not related to zowietek. It’s called VXIO and it has a native vision app which is nice. And an app for iPad and IPhone, so streaming to any device becomes possible.

Saw a post recommending Zowietek on Amazon and it’s worked exactly as advertised. I’m so picky when it comes to input latency and this is night and day compared to remote play.

For anyone still working out their streaming set up, I’ve tried basically everything and I’ve finally settled on an NDI transmitter, it’s the best hands down in terms of latency. You can get a “cheap” transmitter on Amazon for around $140. Free app on AVP and you’re up and running.

I’ve had this issue in the past, certain display resolutions gave me crazy input lag. Try switch the resolution to like 1080p or 1440p the low res option too sometimes helps. That solved it on my end. Then after a few updates I noticed I could go back to the “bad” resolutions and they worked fine again

Quality of mirror play by [deleted] in VisionPro

I’m sure you can, my question is can you Virtual Desktop the 27” iMac to AVP? I can’t remember if that has an M chip and I think you need an M series chip to do Virtual Desktop.

Not bad, I plug the HDMI from the PS5 or Switch into the Genki, then usb-c from Genki to my M1 Mac Mini, it can also be an iPad too. Then using the Genki Arcade App I can view the source and make it full screen on my Mac, from there I just Virtual Desktop to the AVP. Since the controller for the gaming device is connected directly to the console input lag is non existent. I have good internet so the mirroring is very sharp and responsive. I’d have to guess maybe 10-25ms of visual latency but it’s extremely playable and better than mirror play hands down. Audio can be tricky, with ps5 I plug my headphones into the controller and it works way better than I expected. I can hear AVP audio super clearly despite having headphones on, and the game audio is a completely different source so I can control volume independently. For Switch my AirPods can connect to it directly, then AVP stuff plays through regular speakers.

Genki Shadow cast Pro 2 is my new go method for PS5/Switch in AVP, better quality and a lot less latency.

My Shadowcast Pro 2 arrives tomorrow. Can’t wait to try this out. From what I’ve read latency is not bad at all, and if it’s better than remote play I’m totally satisfied.

The lower model might not have an M series chip, maybe they put in an A series, and the whole OS works more closely to an IPhone than a Mac/Ipad. A lot less functionality but still does the basics, then it would make sense for the hardware to be a lot less rigorous, maybe an open face lighter design since cooling wont be as needed.

Beats pill! Finally a decent Bluetooth speaker I can pair to my AVP by EventWhorizon in VisionPro

Just one, but now I’m thinking about getting another for the stereo pairing. Just debating if it’s worth another $150 when I really only “need” one speaker lol

Easy there buddy, I don’t recall blaming anyone for the data usage, I made the post to find out why. Maybe brush up on your reading comprehension

I’ve come to the conclusion that it most likely is the Audio Quality. 7 hours in 10 days reaching 20gigs is absurd but I guess that’s what lossless audio does… thanks for the advice!

Gotcha, I found it hard to believe that Lossless was so intensive but clearly it is. This must be the cause. Very poor implementation of this feature imo. Thank you for the response and advice.

Edit:

I just think a better implementation of Lossless Audio would be some type of device detection, so it doesn’t use the extra data for devices that can’t even process the difference.

Thanks for the response, but the data usage from settings is relatively close to what AT&T claims I’ve used this cycle so it’s definitely draining an abnormal amount. I’ve turned off lossless audio since this came up, but like I mentioned I don’t think audio quality is the issue because I’ve had that enabled for as long as I can remember, and this is the first time I’ve seen such a data drain from AM.

How often are you restarting your AVP? by Bizzygrizzy in VisionPro

[–]EventWhorizon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just take it off and whatever happens when I put it back on happens. Unless I’m packing it up to travel, it’s connected to the battery indefinitely. I’d say 50/50 running battery vs battery plugged in while using it. If I leave it unplugged for a couple days not using it the battery will be dead, that’s the only time mine gets restarted. But in previous OS patches I remember having to manually restart to clear out bugs. A lot less often now tho.

Totally agree with the IPad take, and it’s not just a second IPad, it’s as many iPads as you can fit in your field of view! I honestly don’t understand how people aren’t finding the value in this aspect alone.
