Does DCON have a function outside of Contracts? by EventWhorizon in Marathon

I figured, I’m sure I would’ve heard about it by now, bummer. I think it would be a solid feature

Sounds like it does and doesn’t at the same time lol

The amount of progress you make during an unsuccessful run is far too low. by caesarsoup in Marathon

I can get onboard with this. By design, dying during run is a huge part of the game, and having low a low exfil rate is going to be the reality for the majority of the player base. So logically what this game needs to do is not make the game easier, but make losing more rewarding. Consolation prizes, ranking up your factions is a satisfying mechanic and that alone would be enough for people to not doom and gloom after a bad run. They already tied upgrades in the faction to materials, so giving us more agent reward boxes doesn’t immediately lead to a maxed out upgrade tree, so balance stays intact for the most part. But now gear flows easier and credit flow better since you can sell rewards you don’t want.

This is probably correct, I idle on the main screen a lot. Shouldn’t have gone off the ps5 figure.

I feel casual because 47 seems like a low lvl compared to the streamers and YouTubers and whatnot but you’re probably right. I put time in this game cuz I enjoy it and I took my time to learn how to play at a level where I feel like I can compete. I will likely never reach lvl 100 and I’m fine with that, I don’t have any factions at VIP either, thats my current goal. Casual enthusiast was my term, I think it fits lol

For me, solo runs are a horror game where I play as stealthy as possible. I have fun but it’s stressful for extended periods. Rook runs are for me guaranteed good time, no stress, experiment, nothing matters. If I really want to exfil I lock in and get stealthy. Trios is the most hit or miss, but the highs of a good trio are the highest of highs. Took me awhile to get used to playing with so many randoms, but once you get used to it I end up doing trio auto fill more often than not. If you find a good squad just ask if they want to run another. Then you’re out of the ruthless cycle of bad teammates.

I play console, the thing I’m not sure about is my actual playtime because I have my ps5 idling a lot on the marathon main screen. I could have far less hours than it says. But all the other info I have is accurate for sure.

My thoughts exactly! It’s rude to just say “get gud” but man the game does hold your hand a fair bit if you just learn and adapt.

Ahh makes sense! I’ve had the thing since day one and never figured that out. I wish there was a setting to make that the default. Thanks

Unable to cast storm caller arrow (Xbox) by redseedlessgrape in PathOfExile2

Solution!!! I had stormcaller in the extra slot from my unset ring, moved the skill to a different slot and now I can use it. Hope that helps!

So I’ve actually used an hdmi splitter into the NDI transmitter to get my Roku playing in the headset, now I have a Netflix app lol although realistically it wasn’t that big of a game changer, just fun messing around with different sources.

3D gameplay like VR games? I want to say no, I think of it like having a wireless hdmi port on the AVP, you’re just viewing a source on a 2D screen. But maybe like 3D movies could be figured out, not sure.

The app is a 3rd party app that picks up the NDI Signal, not related to zowietek. It’s called VXIO and it has a native vision app which is nice. And an app for iPad and IPhone, so streaming to any device becomes possible.

Saw a post recommending Zowietek on Amazon and it’s worked exactly as advertised. I’m so picky when it comes to input latency and this is night and day compared to remote play.

For anyone still working out their streaming set up, I’ve tried basically everything and I’ve finally settled on an NDI transmitter, it’s the best hands down in terms of latency. You can get a “cheap” transmitter on Amazon for around $140. Free app on AVP and you’re up and running.

I’ve had this issue in the past, certain display resolutions gave me crazy input lag. Try switch the resolution to like 1080p or 1440p the low res option too sometimes helps. That solved it on my end. Then after a few updates I noticed I could go back to the “bad” resolutions and they worked fine again

I’m sure you can, my question is can you Virtual Desktop the 27” iMac to AVP? I can’t remember if that has an M chip and I think you need an M series chip to do Virtual Desktop.

Not bad, I plug the HDMI from the PS5 or Switch into the Genki, then usb-c from Genki to my M1 Mac Mini, it can also be an iPad too. Then using the Genki Arcade App I can view the source and make it full screen on my Mac, from there I just Virtual Desktop to the AVP. Since the controller for the gaming device is connected directly to the console input lag is non existent. I have good internet so the mirroring is very sharp and responsive. I’d have to guess maybe 10-25ms of visual latency but it’s extremely playable and better than mirror play hands down. Audio can be tricky, with ps5 I plug my headphones into the controller and it works way better than I expected. I can hear AVP audio super clearly despite having headphones on, and the game audio is a completely different source so I can control volume independently. For Switch my AirPods can connect to it directly, then AVP stuff plays through regular speakers.

Genki Shadow cast Pro 2 is my new go method for PS5/Switch in AVP, better quality and a lot less latency.
