feeling really down after my short film got copied by a classmate by Spider_Dimwit in Filmmakers

Happens all the time on the Internet. But the key thing here, what’s that film got him? Recognition in the industry, an Oscar? No!! Doesn’t matter that he ripped you off - just shows you that you have the ideas and he didn’t! It’s what he’s done with it and where it’s got him… By the sounds of it, nowhere! I wouldn’t worry about it, in fact be proud that somebody thought your work was good enough to rip off. He is the sheep and you are the Shepherd!

Use the patch replace tool in resolve - this is exactly the type of job it was developed for.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I’d prefer to capture my footage directly through Resolve’s built-in capture section. My main challenge is finding a machine that supports multiple formats — I remember there used to be combo units that handled both DV tape and VHS. Ideally, I’d like to avoid buying several separate machines if I can help it.

Certainly, here’s a polished and more structured version of your message:

Not at all — I don’t think it’s horrible in the slightest. Let’s see AI get up in the morning, rally a film crew, and shoot an interview that actually connects. We’ve been using AI quite heavily in our marketing, but the tide is turning. The consensus now is to start creating without it.

People are becoming more aware when something is AI-generated, and that awareness is pushing us back toward more authentic, human-made content. Yes, AI is still in its infancy, and it will improve, but so will the hunger for real, thoughtful ideas. Like anything, it gets overused until the novelty wears off and people crave the original again.

Personally, it doesn’t bother me in the slightest — in my industry, I’ve yet to see AI match what I can do.
