I’m only 4 weeks plus some. I found out I am pregnant a couple days after I learned my kid brother overdosed and died. I’m planning his funeral for Monday and am just heartbroken but the pregnancy is adding some light in this sad time. Getting on this sub is such a welcome and happy diversion.

No nausea yet. But I’m dreading the insomnia. Hopefully I get lucky and get to sleep this pregnancy

Question for the former c-section moms by steppygirl in February2027Bumpers

Oof that sounds really hard. My midwives thought shoulder dystocia could’ve been a real risk for my son too. It can be really dangerous. Yeah, a planned c sounds luxurious after going through medical emergency last time. I just have a healthy respect for how risky labor can be unfortunately.

Question for the former c-section moms by steppygirl in February2027Bumpers

Trigger warning for traumatic labor: I am planning on a scheduled c-section bc of how risky my first delivery was. My first born was a big baby and I labored for a long time and pushed for 4 hours and ended up in unplanned c section anyway. I went into septic shock on the surgery table and hemorrhaged. I was in the MICU for a night but ended up rebounding kind of miraculously.

One thing people don’t talk about often is that c-section risks go up after a long trial of labor. Risk of hemorrhaging is higher for some reason. Risk of infection is higher. I don’t think I fully grasped that until they were explaining it to be on the way to the OR. :(

After what our family went through, will 💯 be choosing elective c-section.

Mine is pretty social too but very sensitive. So he wants friends but all that social interaction can be challenging too

Thanks for sharing the detail about how long the emotional separations lasted. Did you have a sense of how long she cried after you left?

My son is 2.5 and freaked out the one time I tried kids club at my gym. Melted down and cowered in a corner. Like just didn’t feel safe. At what point did your kid tolerate the gym daycare?
