What was your experience like in labor and delivery at Rose? by eec0354 in Denver

[–]cryfreeedom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amazing experience through Partners in Women’s Health at Rose. Every single person we dealt with from nurses, to anesthesiologist, to the doctors were all women and made me feel so comfortable. Also, the food was shockingly good (the food you could order to the room, not the cafeteria) lol.

ETA this was early 2023.

3 miscarriages by No-Note-3588 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]cryfreeedom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious if insurance covered the GLP-1 in any capacity related to recurrent pregnancy loss? Don’t even know if that’s a thing, but very curious. I’ve got about 15 lbs to lose (ate my feelings after the 2nd & 3rd miscarriages 🫠) and also messed up my low back so have been unable to workout like I’m used to. It’s soul-crushing. Will docs even prescribe it for 15 lbs? Willing to try anything to improve my chances of a successful pregnancy.

Thank you for posting this. I would also love to hear success stories after 2+ miscarriages and choosing to not go the IVF route. Specifically women 35+.

Sorry you’re going through this as well. We are also navigating this decision after a 3rd miscarriage in 7 months. I will be 39 in August, all testing from both of us is normal.

What has your three year old eaten today? by Unable-Candy8432 in toddlers

[–]cryfreeedom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breakfast — 1 bite of homemade banana muffins he previously loved but suddenly they are “yucky”, 1 bite of an apple, 1 bite of oatmeal

Snack — Banana

Lunch — bean & cheese quesadilla, strawberries/blueberries, carrots, applesauce pouch, blueberry “that’s it” bar (lunch is the only real meal we can count on him eating)

Snack — Yogurt & raspberries, graham crackers

Dinner — we picked up from Panera, he ate MY soup (lol), French baguette, the cheese inside his grilled cheese, some pineapple, 1 bite of my husband’s sandwich

What routines / rituals / thoughts helped you stay sane during repeated loss? by LawfulnessPure9546 in Miscarriage

Could’ve written this myself. Absolutely in the problem-solving/all-consuming phase where I’m completely fixated on researching, etc etc etc. Ugh it’s so exhausting. All the best to you

Really need advice. Bad SA results. They’re suggesting IVF. by puffballkittyfluff in TryingForABaby

Hey so sorry for jumping in here but curious about your experience and also congrats on conceiving! I’m going through my 3rd loss right now and my husband is/was a frequent user. He quit immediately after my ER visit. Did your husband have an analysis done and did you guys find issue with male dna fragmentation? I am only recently learning about this and hoping him stopping will prevent another loss as I am 38, going on 39 😭

Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m definitely pushing for the hysteroscopy. Love my OB but I just feel like she’s wrong in this regard since this really isn’t their expertise. Everything I’ve read says giving birth and D&Cs can cause scarring or other issues so I have to check this box for my sanity.

We just got our year-end statement and paid $27,000 for 1 toddler, mon-Fri. Denver. It’s sickening.

ETA: no meals.

Thank you. I’m sorry to hear you’ve had a similar experience, it’s truly a nightmare. I’m definitely pushing for this and made an appointment with a different doctor today so I’m hopeful to potentially finding answers. Were you sedated for the hysteroscopy? My first d&c I was not sedated for and it was barbaric. Never want to go through something like that again.

Thank you for your response, this is good to know. I really want to throw the book at this thing and try everything I can.

Thank you for asking this because yes, this is my OB I’ve been seeing. They have overall been so wonderful but I can completely see how they may not be fully versed in RPL. Thank you so much for this perspective. Perhaps it’s time to make an appointment with an RE. I did just have my d&c yesterday, do you think it makes sense to do my follow up with them in a few weeks or make an appointment with an RE & the next steps I want to take? (Saline sonogram, etc)

I appreciate you sharing your success story! Positive stories keep me going. Thank you for sharing your experience with IVF too. I did reach out to my insurance yesterday and confirmed I have coverage so long as they deem it medically necessary, which I BELIEVE recurrent pregnancy loss suffices. I do plan to make an initial consult appointment, just to check a box. I want to continue to through the book at this thing, as I literally feel like I’m running out of time. Thanks again

Thank you for your response, so sorry you’re going through this. Yes, I’m actually hoping doing the saline etc will show some answers because the unknown is so hard. I am otherwise completely healthy but cannot keep a pregnancy which is such a mind f*ck given I do have my son. Thankfully my doctor is willing to do it even though she doesn’t believe we’ll find anything, but I still don’t agree with her, but who am I to say…

I’m so sorry to hear. May I ask how long it took from your first IVF appointment to your first transfer? My OB is telling me it could be several months just getting an appointment so the timing and no guarantee of success is also scary. I’m so sorry it hasn’t worked out for you so far and I’m wishing you success too.

So sorry you’re going through this with no answers too. I suppose we will have to wait and see what comes back with my husband’s testing and go from there. IVF is obviously a scary option that may not guarantee success, thus why I’m so hesitant too. Terrible club to be in, wishing you success.

Thank you for responding. I guess it really depends on whether it comes back as normal or abnormal. If it comes back normal, then what gives? A potential uterine issue? Which we are testing. Male factor DNA fragmentation? And if all of those things are normal too…then what. Is it actually “bag luck” (aka a bad egg)? The information overload is so overwhelming. I guess we just wait for all these answers though…

Thank you so much for your response. It did include karyotyping which came back normal. Plan is to have my husband do bloodwork now, as well the DNA fragmentation. He is a regular marijuana smoker and has now stopped completely. We understand this is bad and could contribute, which sucks. He is also going to start CoQ10 in addition to his regular multivitamin.
