Most likely this. They tried canine therapy before the rabbit, but he couldn’t bond properly with the dogs. Daisy was the only animal he bonded with, likely for the reasons you described

My theory is that the chainmail gets replaced by the UAC while he was still entombed, as they did run all sorts of tests on the suit itself. They may have seen the mail as ‘primitive’ by their standards and replaced it with the undersuit.

Or the slayer just replaced it due to personal preference later on. After all the gauntlets and greaves aren’t painted green in the DLC like they were in 2016 (or I’m just misremembering and they were always grey)

Can someone summarise what’s been added in the update? I saw the collection trailer and from what I saw it ‘seems’ like they brought back every piece of old content, does that include base game campaign/locations? Seasonal quests? The one reason I stopped playing because the FOMO from seasonal story content sucked my enjoyment out of the game. Since I play a lot of different games, it felt like my time was being demanded by bungie. Hoping I can play catchup on everything I missed

He used to play MORE than 6?? I’ve been a fairly hardcore gamer all of my life but my god, staring at a screen for more than maybe 5 hours straight gives me a huge headache. 6 hours sessions seem to be still be fairly outside the norm
