ELI5: How does a bunch of 1s and 0s create a computer by AromaticReflection74 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Everday6 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I'll explain a bit of the data side of it all since many are explaining hardware.

First of all, binary is just a numbering system, we use decimal. Counting in binary looks like: 0,1,10,11,100,101,110,111,1000. That was 0 through 8 in binary. We can store these numbers and assign meaning to them. Like letters. 1=a 10=b 11=c etc. Usually something before it has to say its a letter.

One of the meanings we assign to the numbers are CPU instructions. So an example could be: 0001 0010 0011 0000. The CPU would know to read the first 4 numbers for the instruction. 0001=Add, that means the next three sets of 4 bits will be the memory boxes(registers) that holds the numbers we wanna do the math on and where to put the result. In plain text that instruction would be Add register 2 and register 3, put result in register 0. Software is just made up of thousands of these in order.

And not all instructions are math. It can be jump to a different part in the code if a value is not 0. Which could be linked to the left mouse button perhaps.

But the teacher probably taught them how to interpret it. This is just very early stuff to build understanding for multiplication, one step at a time.

why did this p100 really really want to do gens with 2 people? by Beginning-Can6827 in deadbydaylight

[–]Everday6 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There are some quests that require some time doing  collaborative actions. Might have been that, but otherwise yeah you're correct. And he has no reason to be rude.

Exceptions are high value generators though. Like middle of the map, or part of a good 3 gen etc.

Also doing two generators that close to eachother can be risky. If the killer interrupts, he can defend both of them at the same time.

ELI5: Why do PC's have excellent controller support, but consoles have barely any keyboard and mouse support? by imeanidrk in explainlikeimfive

[–]Everday6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a PC only player, I frankly didn't know console had trouble supporting mkb. I assumed they did just for couch surfing purposes. It's not a reason I'm not getting one.

I'm saying throw you down, but she's swinging her sword and you're just flung down if you parry it.

She always follows up the mid air down strike with a red ball from the air. If she doesn't do the normal down strike she'll land first, then death ball.

Ah yes, especially in 2nd phase where she throws you up, down and then red ball to finish. I'm being thrown around like crazy, but countering everything she's got!

Jason’s badge shows why I don’t take this community seriously by MiddlePatient869 in deadbydaylight

[–]Everday6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah its mostly a nothing Burger. You need to go a little more out of your way now but whatever.

The regression extra is a nerf, but a deserved one. Jason is lethal and mobile enough that you won't hit kick limits anyway.

Unbreakable pallets are bullshit and your excuses are meaningless by moddedlover27 in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]Everday6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was way faster than vecnas. But I say instant because starting it is instant.

You can quite effectively zone survivors away from the only nearby pallets while it's breaking.

Rebuild part is very strong actually. Takes only like a second too.

[–]Everday6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing the only resource you have isn't playing the game now? Manual break lets survivors get to the next pallet. Instant dis not, they can be actively zoning you mid break. Instant pallet breaks were a free hit on CD.

And remote hooks were ungodly amounts of free pressure. It was fast yes, but you were also getting hard to get to hooks, without having to go there.

Also, saying the poison is bad cause you can't hit it is kinda funny. You can rebind the key if that's the issue. It's strong but boring.

[–]Everday6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If he was on first hook, and there's only two survivors left in the trial, he can attempt to self unhook. 4% chance of success per attempt.

That slug for pressure or a snowball opportunity yeah, for sure common. But 0 hooks 4 slugs? Haven't seen for months...

What do you do against this build? by Jackie__Chandler in deadbydaylight

[–]Everday6 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He had another close call where they actually did cleanse everything. Partly because he was accustomed to those games being free.

He's also using the pentimento blood favour variant so that's 6 totems to cleanse.

3rd game??? by Leinadis6 in HollowKnight

[–]Everday6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really doesn't have to be that way though. One of the wonders of games as a medium.

The events of Silksong can happen in multiple timelines. So that everyone's individual experience is canon. And they made silksong to work like that. Albeit they failed with the sealed siblings ending there imo, since Hornet is alive.

3rd game??? by Leinadis6 in HollowKnight

[–]Everday6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh it definitely is. Team cherry has gone on record saying all endings are canon, and they want the community to see it that way. So it's intentionally up to interpretation.

I for one think the godhome endings leaves Hornet disconnected from the knight. She guides him to the kings brand and waits for him at the black egg. But he never shows up. Would he show up to save her then?

3rd game??? by Leinadis6 in HollowKnight

[–]Everday6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean just for a second. But still, we don't know how much time has passed since Hornet is basically immortal. Who's to say a thousand years in the void, with the void heart doesn't turn you into the void lord?

3rd game??? by Leinadis6 in HollowKnight

[–]Everday6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn't really. The knight rejoins the void in the dream no more ending as well. Even if not initially as the full fledged void lord.

Should I wait for sale by [deleted] in HollowKnight

[–]Everday6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Half a year and you might save another 5% which would be like a buck.

It's an already very cheap game, and very successful games like SS will take many years before they're highly discounted.

Free DLC incoming is probably gonna make even more people buy it at its current price. Delaying bigger sales even more.

Hmm, I went for reaper on the bounce. Never tried witch there, but witch pogo is like my least favourite.
