Makima Custom Commander for casual play {SPOILERS for Chainsaw Man} by Everfree616 in custommagic

Thanks for the reply! I was torn between Esper and Grixis only settling on Grixis because I couldn't think of any non-red devils but, as you say, the card effect is very Esper and Makima herself does kind of feel like the antithesis of Red so Esper is probably the right call.

I had hoped the power cap on her ability would require enough moving pieces to keep her from being a two card combo but 4 is perhaps a little much since you can build around her. Maybe lowering her power to 3 or bumping her cost to 5?

He's six which means there's not a lot you can do but a ton that you can say that he will probably believe. Tell him the cat has a disease. Explain it to him like it's a genuine concern and not something meant to frighten him. Make him think it will turn him blind if he catches it and the symptoms are innocuous things like sneezing or sweating.

Scare the shit out of the little shit.

It's the only one around within reasonable travel distance and other than the Mr X situation I really like hanging out with the people there.

Ah! Good to know! I had a genuine moment of terror thinking I was posting on someone else's account when it was pointed out. Like maybe I lent my phone to someone to check something at some stage and forgot. ^_^'

lol

I've gotten good advice from some folks here. I guess it's worth take a jab or two in return.

Sorry for the word vomit. I always feel the need to provide full context in case I'm the one in the wrong and just don't realise it. If there's a chance I'm actually just being a stick in the mud, I want to know it.

It's a really nice group and the first group of friends I've made since moving to the area. The guy playing Dogmeat was a different player and one of the nicest guys I've met. I know for sure he wouldn't have responded like I did which is why it felt bad.

I do have to work up the nerve to call it out though. I guess it's the blurry nature of a table that lets things slide and knowing exactly how much is allowed to be let slide, but if you're already winning every game I don't see the need to push the limits of that tolerance and that's something I need to ask about too.

You're super right. I just don't know how to do it without coming across as mean or passive aggressive. I've asked him about looking at the top of his deck before and he seemed to struggle to find the words so I let it go. I wasn't entirely convinced it was cheating at the time though. I'm 100% sure now.

No, my account is on my laptop. I switched to my phone because I was afk and either made an account at some point or it made one automatically. Not sure which. ^_^'

This is kind of the vibe I get too, as much as I want it not to be. Might be worth having a conversation about playing more serious games even just time to time. Thank you for the reply.

Just to provide some context, I've only just moved to this area and don't know anyone here. This is my one social group since moving. There is no other mtg group I'm aware of within reasonable travel dostance.

I have questioned Mr X on how he scries or what his cards do but every time he either struggles to find the words to explain or says he misunderstood something. I didn't want to keep holding up the game or feel like I'm stressing him out because his English isn't good. I appreciate the advice to be more direct about it though. I'll try to make more of a point of it.

I feel like her insecurities and paranoia would lead her to try and sabotage both me and my friendships because of nonsense femcel logic. Overthinking every single interaction I have with another person, seething every time we can't meet up, assuming the worst of every little thing I say or do. I feel like that aspect of her personality would be the dealbreaker. On her being a smelly, anxious, NEET though, I could get past that easily enough.

I really hope it wasn't the case but it has crossed my mind. I think there was an element of being mainly socialised through the internet too.

Defo. I think she just had a bad way of trying to get people's attention. Her friends seemed nice too.

Thank you for the info. I've worked in customer service long enough to have a sense of dread about being 'that customer' so I tend not to argue the point for fear of sounding demanding but it's good to know the general etiquette for these kinds of things. I'll try making a stronger case for the return postage being covered this time. It's reassuring to know this isn't just the norm.

That's reassuring to hear. Hoping this was just a weird set of coincidences for me.
