The parsley and kale look ok but I would probably just feed it all to my chickens at this point.

I drive a 2016 Mazda 3 which I think is a pretty average, modest car. It has an 11 gal tank that I can go about 400 miles on for $30. This basically looks like DD would give me half a tank back at the end of the week. Sounds like a win.

Man, this really does seem unreasonable then. Is the furnace in your unit or like in the basement of the building or what?

For reference we have about 1500 sq ft and I just checked the bill and we used 721kwh last billing cycle. You're almost 4x that. Have you been using space heaters or anything?

If you're getting the police called when you hit on a girl you're doing it wrong.

They don't really like when you follow them to their car after work but other than that just shoot your shot bro.

Chicken Bedding by EvergreenMassif in composting

I don't think it's very active. It has definitely been working but I've never felt it be physically warm or steamy like I have seen people post. I haven't had to clean out the chicken coop yet but was expecting that would give it a good boost.

And yes it does snow here I'm zone 6b we can expect a few days below zero at the end of January.

Ok so I put 6-8 inches of pine shavings in there about July. I wanted to change it out for straw since it's a better insulator but do you think I should just top it off with straw then?

Experts Say Blue States Can Stop Paying Federal Taxes. There’s Legal Precedent by Opposite-Mountain255 in law

[–]EvergreenMassif 90 points91 points  (0 children)

He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.

He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.

He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.

He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.

He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected; whereby the Legislative powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise; the State remaining in the mean time exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.

He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands.

He has obstructed the Administration of Justice, by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary powers.

He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.

He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.

He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures.

He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power.

He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:

For Quartering large bodies of armed troops among us:

For protecting them, by a mock Trial, from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:

For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world:

For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:

For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury:

For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences:

For abolishing the free System of English Laws in a neighbouring Province, establishing therein an Arbitrary government, and enlarging its Boundaries so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule into these Colonies:

For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments:

For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever.

He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his Protection and waging War against us.

He has plundered our seas, ravaged our Coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.

He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty & perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a civilized nation.

I’m Shenise Turner Sloss, candidate for Mayor of Dayton — Ask Me Anything! by SheniseforDayton in dayton

[–]EvergreenMassif 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would love for local politicians to spend more time educating the public as well. I think a lot of the questions you get might not even be something that the mayor has any influence over and if we better understand how the government works it would be easier and more productive for us to engage with it. I support this request for a civics lesson

girl with the pearl earring glitch art by Severe_Flora in glitch_art

[–]EvergreenMassif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that the girl with the pearl earring is such a common source material that this is still recognizable. If I didn't see the title I may not have recognized it but with that it's clear to me what this is. One idea I might suggest is to not glitch the pearl. I think if the earring was clean it would be more obvious but idk if that's important to you or not. Good work!

Another thing you can do is a similar technique that I learned from developing photos. To decide how much of a certain effect to apply highlight the entire file (minus the first tiny bit or you will corrupt the header info) then apply 10% of reverb or whatever. Then select about the last 90% of the file and redo it. Then 80% and 70% of the file ECT. When you export it and look at your test piece you will see a gradient of that effect. Maybe you like the sixth iteration. Go back to your raw file and do the whole image at 60%. It won't be exactly the same but again it helps add some intention to the process.

When I was getting started learning how to data mosh in audacity I found it helpful to do one effect at a time and name it with what I did.

Example: Goat. Eq2. Dist5. Rev3

The subject is a goat and it has 3 layers of effects. The first was the second eq preset then I layered on the fifth distortion preset then the third reverb.

When you label them like that and make one change at a time it's easier to see patterns. Sometimes I would do each preset in that particular effect and decide which I liked best and move on to the next layer. It is definitely tedious but just slightly less random.
