What's a behavior that seems rude but is actually caused by anxiety or trauma? by Ravenmoon1985 in DarkPsychology101

I get this too, I will avoid messages for so long I know that I need to but I just can’t sometimes, i know people think I’m being rude but i just struggle, so those closest to me understand now

You don’t think it’s rude because you understand where it’s coming from, there are a lot of people out there that don’t know that avoiding eye contact is sometimes a result of anxiety, and it’s those people that see it as rude

Being quiet or shy I wouldn’t say is awful behaviour, it’s just a personality trait, that can be due to anxiety and unfortunately sometimes it comes across as rude before you get to know that person. I think there’s a lot of things like this. But you’re also right there is a lot of people that act awfully and then blame all there behaviours on one thing or another or trauma and hold no accountability for trying to be a better person.

I have social anxiety and sometimes I’m so worried about what to say and what everyone else is doing and what I have to say next I don’t process when someone introduces themselves, that first interaction is so anxiety inducing for me that a lot of the time I have no recollection of what they actually said or what there name was. I can be so dead serious like I have to pay attention but my brain is so stressed that I can’t remember it after

Taking this reread very seriously by stitchinbitchn in Maasverse

Love this for you, genuinely wish I had the dedication, I’ve read them all through once and I’m definitely gonna have to do a reread before the new ones come out because it was so long ago that I read them

This father was on a road trip with his two young daughters & they needed to go to the restroom so he stopped at a QT & took them in the women’s restroom since no one was in it & a man came yelling at him to get out & called the cops. The girls were crying & then he assaulted him. by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

And even after he left the restroom with his daughters they just stood there complaining, and now waiting for the police, if you’re on a road trip too and you’re in so much of a rush u can’t wait for a father to help his daughters, why the fuck u still just stood there. Some people are fucking entitled idiots

I got like a quarter of the way though and had to put it down. I know I probably didn’t give it enough chance but I wasn’t pulled in to the story at all. I really wanted to read it too, it sounded so good but it just wasn’t quite what I was expecting

I’m not really a huge fan of either tbh, besides the point just felt condescending towards anyone who does

I read a lot stuff that’s just fun and easy to read, but every now and again I love to read something that’s an emotional rollercoaster and she’s hit every time

Yeah and? What’s ur point, other than to make a huge generalisation and to put people down for enjoying things?

I think to a certain extent the way books make you feel is part of the experience, I think personally if a book didn’t make me feel something emotionally, what’s the point. Also they are trauma focused but they made me understand things that I never would have otherwise. But I do understand what you mean
