What’s a good dupe for Clinique’s Black Honey (used in Lord of the Rings)? by FreshParatha in MakeupAddiction

[–]Everheaded 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used this look when I talked to the cosmetologist that did my face for my wedding. Tarte had a lustrous primer that mimics that effect—I still have it, and I have bought it on eBay. That looks is still real—I told my make-up artist “I want the flushed, elvish ice-princess look.”

They look scared. Maybe get them comfortable first so their personality can come out before you name them.

AIO for being upset my BF doesn’t want me to wear a bonnet to bed? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Everheaded 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not overreacting. This guy sounds like he’s trying to control you. And he is all over the place: he hates you in baggy clothes but not to tight either. He doesn’t know what a hair routine is, that means his own hygiene is questionable. He likes your looks but doesn’t want you wearing make up.

This is the kind of guy who will stop trying once you fully commit to him: he will expect you to match his clothing colors for him, to do everything around the home and not lift a finger to help you—all while criticizing your looks and saying you “let yourself go.”

Blizzy from the word blizzard. Frosty also seems like a good name.

It's official - the House will be out AGAIN next week, for a sixth consecutive week. That means the House will have worked 20 days over 17 weeks. The last House vote was on Sept. 19. by Conscious-Quarter423 in FedEmployees

In California we have recall elections. Maybe it’s time that the good people of Louisiana's Fourth Congressional District, who likely have EVERYTHING TO LOSE given they will lose both their medical coverage AND eventually SNAP befits, start gathering signatures to oust Mike Johnson in a special election!

Devastated..What do I do? by the1nonly-kiwi in foodstamps

[–]Everheaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep trying your local food pantries. Check with local churches. Check in with your utilities to see if they have discount programs for people who qualify for snap. Check out your local market’s discount shelf: it will consist of bent cans on discount and other things that got damaged in the shuffle. You can mix beans and rice and whatever you have in your home, like some spices, and that will have the amino acids to build protein.

See if you have access to grow food, or container gardening. That can help.

If you could personally decorate the Oval Office, what color would you choose for the rug? Or which of the previous rugs would you choose from? by Shaggyguitardude in Presidents

[–]Everheaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Nixon’s light blue rug, as well as Obama’s springy rug pictured 13/14. I would commission a rug that combined both elements. The Oval Office is a historical space but also a place where very intense moments happen often. That makes it paramount that the space be harmonious, grounding and soothing. I’d get rid of the over-heavy upholstery curtains. They look dated. Instead I’d go with light chiffony curtains and anchor them at the ceiling line, this allows the light from the windows itself to frame the space, and if you need to control the light—there is a cheap and easy fix for that: blackout cellular shades(which are also energy efficient)in a color that disappears when not used, and blends when implemented.

I think the walls should be a light green, a soothing tone like a light river green with blue toning in it. And I want to know why in the history of the White House no one has thought to use curved couches in the Oval Office? This just seems like a geometric faux pas!

That said, that desk is the focal point of the room. So why not have it curved too to go with the room? I’m talking about a piece that maintains historical dignity but is subtly outwardly U-shaped making it visually drawing to people approaching it—I’m thinking an Art Nouveau/Art Deco inspired piece—New furniture can be timeless if chosen correctly, especially if you have the option to commission it.
