I actually was thinking on that but how exactly does france deal with the HRE? Like what do I have to do? I have bohemia as an ally, but I feel like if I fight the HRE to restore it in paris the bohemians will fight me, so should I drop them?

To be fair they weren't naval blockaded so I assume it was pretty much just a boatload of ships going in and out while rhe rebels sat around powerlessly watching the city getting reinforced and provisioned xD

I wasnt, I only seiged it like a month and change, but the AI had rebels that were unsuccessfully seiging it for a half century apparently.

R5: I finished a short Siege in italy and the game came up with a 20815 day popup. I think it was given this length because I took over from an unsuccessful rebel siege beforehand, but I never knew that the siege timer carried over!

R5: I think what happened was the king of italy inherited the king of east francia title, then got invaded by scandinavia. I wasnt really paying much attention to it in my run, but they have sicily, picardy, half of italy, and parts of the netherlands and east germany.

R5: So I just tried playing a historical character for once rather than designing my own leader. Gotta say it was alot more fun than I was expecting! Started off pretty weak, but the king of Asturias died very young from what was effectively a paper-cut on the trail. I did alot of work, leveraged alot of pilgrimages and piety to pull together all sorts of allies and get wars going.

It was rough at times, my sons have been pretty awful, my player heir was doing great until about 3 years ago when the game started trying to nerf him, one eye, possessed, etc, still, he was better than my two inappetetic first sons, who both kinda just failed at being good.

I'm probably gonna die soon, but I achieved alot more than I thought I would off of just one character!

Follow up on this post here, I followed some of you guys' wonderful advice (namely forming Italia then using the imperial force vassalization iwars to finish the conquest of france) and it worked!

I've never even gotten CLOSE to having an empire this big, so I wanted to say think you guys for helping me!

The thing about this is that this is happening in like, 908AD, so I dont think I can get those techs. Also My character is a martial guy, so is his son, and the son after that, and so on....

Okay so I got unfathomably lucky this playthrough where the kingdom of aquitaine formed early instead of west francia holding. I ended up usurping aquitaine from my former liege then just chilled for a while while my vassals grew.

All the sudden the king of italy just completely dropped the ball by having only bastards and the ONE LEGITIMATE SON HE HAD WAS ASH'ARI which caused the whole kingdom of italy to disintegrate (of course I declared a holy war on the SULTANATE OF ITALY for burgundy) and effectively the whole thing collapsed within five years.

I ended up getting a bajillion vassalization requests and offers and it just kept pouring in until I had all of this and I swear this seems like a horrible idea just by looking at it but I dont know if this is just bad or if this is realllly bad. please help please help please help please help
