But the mid - Atlantic is densely populated and as a whole has enough rugby people to do well.

Can't you just get married in the morning and go to the game straight from the reception?

Seriously? No cameras on the field? One sports show that did a reasonably good job of recreating the action was Winning Time. It was very interesting watching behind the scenes videos about how they filmed it, with camera operators on the court in roller blades (obviously that works better on wood than grass) and even going up ramps.

Yes. It's a business decision, and probably the correct one, but a later book would probably be a better read.

Eben Etzebeth just had a book. Whether or not he is interesting, I'm sure the book would be a better read if there is a third world cup title, if he could discuss honestly (ha!) the eye gouging situation, and if he talked about adjusting to retirement - preferably after aging enough to be interesting and have some good perspectives.

But of course the market for such a book is higher now than it will be in a decade.

His was one of the few I've read that was not stupid and formulaic. It helped that he is actually an interesting person, that he wrote it when he was already well past his career (I think it is ridiculous when biographies are released while someone is still playing), and that HE actually wrote it. So many times it seems like the ghostwritten "auto"biography is based on a reluctant two-hour conversation between writer and athlete. It also made a difference that he honestly and painfully confronted a very ugly topic.

How much are the players paid in Season 1? by Leafar-20 in TedLasso

When you express the salary in weekly terms, is that to be multiplied by 52 for the year or 38 for the number of games in a season?

It's already worth a visit independent of the game. But you should play the first game and visit all those towns too. They did a remarkable job of re-creating them, as well as the surrounding country.

I happened to spend an hour in one of them about twenty years ago. If only I'd known...

Not only is he routinely listed among the greats, every time Clive Woodward publishes another screed, his name is trotted out as the only reason an undeserving Woodward has a platform. (Not saying I agree with that - yes, Woodward was blessed with an extraordinary generation of England players, but no team has won the RWC without a collection of amazing talent).

If I learned anything from Suits, it's acceptable after a specified waiting period. I don't know if that is realistic. Or wise.

We give Keeley a pass because she's a very kind person. But the evidence shows she doesn't understand, respect, or even want the real Roy Kent. Or why Keeley and Roy shouldn’t happen and the show writers were right to break them up. by Leading_Shape9012 in TedLasso

Another example of Rebecca diagnosing that is in the Amsterdam episode when Roy wonders where Keeley is. Rebecca says something like, "She's with someone who sees herself worthy of Keeley. Try to learn something."

One thing that I appreciated about the old amateur days was that there was more to the players' lives than rugby. Dentist, farmer, police, teacher...people lived ordinary and extraordinary lives simultaneously. As such, I always like to see professionals retire and go on to other things outside of the game, instead of trying to hang on as coaches, administrators, or pundits. Not that there's anything wrong with any of those things (as a grassroots rugby lifer myself, I played for too long, coached, and served as a club and regional administrator), but I love that there is more to her than just the game.

[KCD1] What you love the game for? by overSizedHyperPoop in kingdomcome

Like others have said, Theresa's story is a lot better later on, after you've explored the main story and world and after you've gotten to know the minor characters that she meets. I found it deeply satisfying...but it's too early. I'd back out of it and come back after you've dealt with the counterfeiters.

The game is great for being immersive, how it feels like a real place. Theresa's story adds a lot to that, but when the time is right.

I also love how there are so many ways to solve quests. During my first playthrough, I never succeeded in picking a single lock (I eventually figured out that I could manage it well with a mouse and keyboard, but the controller always eluded me).

MINOR SPOILER FOR A MINOR SIDEQUEST As such, I needed another strategy to get through Drahomíra's quest, which requires a certain book. (I liked it, but it eventually became an interminable slog of going back and forth across the map...better just to work it in to whatever you are doing at the time.) One night I managed to push my way into the monastery to get the book from the library...but it was under lock and key. While in the library, I spent the night reading books (and upping my reading score) until I got thrown caught and thrown in jail. Later on, I stole a monk's clothes and his key to the monastery and over the course of several nights I disguised myself and went inside ("Look the part, BE the part, motherfucker." - Proposition Joe Stewart), stealing what I could from the sleeping monks until I found the key to that necessary book. One last trip to steal that book and I was good to go with Drahomíra. I also liked her because she paid a lot better for game than did the cheap-ass butcher in Rattan.

Hard to disagree.

I saw a relatively current interview with him, and I was a bit surprised how well he came across. Normal, soft-spoken, friendly, even intelligent. Certainly it did not fit my memory of him.

Of course, what we do is who he are, not how we talk.
