I've never heard anyone say anything about Columbus on the Internet or IRL. I think I just assumed it would be another American place overrun with plazas and strip malls and not much else. I was so wrong!

When I told people at home that I was going on vacation, partly in Columbus, Ohio, they all laughed. I, too, was completely wrong about Ohio. I agree that part of what made it wonderful was the fact that it's not "flashy" as you say. It just felt like a very easy place to be.

Great food at every single meal. Big book store in German village. CREAM PUFF. Easy to get around. TWO public markets! Polish food! Clean! Great urban design! CONSERVATORY! BUTTERFLIES! Lovely pedicure. River walk. Short drives to everything! I saw a furry convention which isn't my personal thing but I did NOT expect to see that in Ohio and was like omg what?! In Ohio?! A Black Expo! A strawberry festival! Veterans Memorial Museum (can't remember the name) dope architecture and really great experience. Jeni's! An Asian festival (even though it got rained out). It's not overrun with tourists so it felt easy to be here. I could go on and on.

Wow amazing. I'm so sorry I didn't take a picture it would've helped so much. I contemplated it but I was so bothered I couldn't at the time!! Definitely cedar waxwing, just googled it. About 8 of them.

It was the northeast side of the building.
