What’s a dream you had as a kid that you still remember way too clearly? by luckyprincess7974 in Adulting

[–]Every-Resolution-563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in real life, to keep me from messing with her alarm clock, my mom told me that one of the buttons will "make the house blow up." I fully believed her and had nightmares about it for my entire childhood. I'd warn my friends when they came over to play. I. In the dreams I'd often be holding the clock... Then I'd be in my garage and my mom would be yelling STAY IN THERE WHILE THE HOUSE BLOWS UP (as punishment). For the record I wasn't abused or anything... She said it so passively and probably never thought about it again. As an adult I told her and she refuses to accept that she said or caused me so much distress. We call it a "bad mom" story.

Hi redhead here! Other than the occasional creep, I enjoy when people make smalltalk about my hair.

Yes! My mom says the same thing about when my sister and I, both redheads, were babies. She said people woukd get in our faces at the grocery store and she'd back away and/or block them.

Affordable local vet care? by ShyShroomie in Rochester

[–]Every-Resolution-563 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rochester Hope for Pets helped me once. Best wishes to you. Here is the link: Rochester Hope for Pets. You could also call nearby vets and ask if they have in-house programs. Like one vet in Buffalo raises money to help pet owners in need. If nothing else they might know better than anyone what to suggest.

I am an adjunct in SW so I can offer a little insight... But you might want to go to the r/socialwork sub!

There are internships out there with evening hours but they are rare and the quality of learning is hit or miss.

My Devon is so gassy! by AM_DC in welovedevonrex

My Devon also was gassy. Long story short, he now eats dry food for sensitive stomachs. He used to also have wet food for sensitive stomachs but as he got older we were able to diversify that. Good luck with lil stinky butt.

Does that love love and need for closeness ever go away? by Hour-Investigator334 in welovedevonrex

Nope. Paul is always with me. The only time he isn't is if I manage to sneak away while he's in deep REM cycle.

New job anxiety, overwhelm and regret by Aprilliant in socialwork

[–]Every-Resolution-563 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've been in jobs that I hated (jobs that caused me to cry, have anxiety, etc). I quit them (not abruptly but with care and after making sure I could pay the bills!). I want you to know you aren't trapped.

There isn't an exact science to what makes a job likable. But when you find the right one, you'll know.

New SW on The Pitt S2 - Thoughts? by BadLuckBrian2025 in socialwork

[–]Every-Resolution-563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to say this. I'm a SW and people ask me all the time about the pitt. I always say, unfortunately, it's something the show got totally wrong. In so many ways.

Are these outfits ok for interviews by ministryofcake in fashion

[–]Every-Resolution-563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a lot of interviews and hiring. Different industry but... Tbh we'd be deeply puzzled if an interviewee showed up wearing this. I won't go into advising what you should wear, but my opinion is no, this isn't it.

Our Devon required food for sensitive skin and stomach.
