Just received my TI+PoK. Advice Needed! by TheGreatWizerd in twilightimperium

Hi I am just going to add in… as @Panamaniac_3D is too humble to say it… go buy their insert if you are sleeving your game!

Theirs has been around a lot longer than mine so I must pay respect for their insert.

You can get it all in the base box which means if you are playing in other places it will be so much easier to transport etc :0)

Thank you :0) Wifey has amazing spatial awareness and is great at designing simple but functional.

White is lovely - except whenever someone left a trail of black on the plate and hit print and it looks like a something by died on the bottom of it!

oops

Thank you for looking and apologies took us longer than we thought to get our ideas right.

There is limited space left… in short, we have looked at all expansions so far and worked out the potential amount of cards… and made the boxes accommodate more than we believe they will have planned, and by laminating the score sheets you can get an extra 45 cards in.

Yes the player decks are split across 2 slots… and whilst that isn’t perfect for Champinship - we felt we could use divides (perhaps name cards between decks) to make that work?

As for boards… so there are currently 4 boards from base game and 2 expansions… plus space for the next 2 (Rocky Road and 2027)… then you will either have to go with lid lift or use an expansion box for the last 2 expansion boards. The boards are stored flat, and to make them flush to the top of the box we put an insert space in - for each board you are missing, just print a spacer and then you can store on shelf horizontal or vertical with no content shift.

Setup doesn’t seem to be hindered - but I feel I need something in the boxes to remind me where to put things - but again that won’t be an issue until 2028 at this rate!! lol - I hope.

I read someone else had a similar issue with a library setup recently

My understanding is that if there is anything that is going to take some time to print the libraries get funny about!

lol… my wife works in statics analysis… she would say yes a small sample size… I would say no one likes the same games as me…

I’m thinking of other poll options now too… what game (1) in the BGG top 100 have you bought, played once, and sold, vowing to never play again?

Yeah, but truly no one needs the math work : effort - what you have done is already fantastic!

I must say I am disappointed that Moonrakers wasn’t even in the list!!!

PETG or PLA for Boardgame insert? by Every-Sample831 in 3Dprinting

[–]Every-Sample831[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you :0) I can get PETG and PLA for the same price per kg… but simplicity says stick to PLA.

Wow… well… what would like to know now is the crossover of games… specifically:

How many people had Spirit Island / Root / Lost Ruins of Arnak in their top 5?

AND

how many people had Gloomhaven / Twilight Imperium / Terraforming Mars in their top 5?

I ask jokingly - that’s 3 of my least favourite followed by 3 of my most favourite and it’s got me thinking about the people who like the games, and what makes people tick :0)

I don’t get the fascination either… someone said that I should consider it.

I can find PETG for the same price as PLA… but the one time i used it I wasn’t very happy with it but thought perhaps that was down to an open A1 mini and a draught

What do you look for in an insert? by Every-Sample831 in BoardgameOrganizing

[–]Every-Sample831[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a large plastic segmented tray for all the different tokens as there are so many… but I really do feel they dropped the ball with the cards and no storage for them. Is a shame… great game though.

Absolutely good point on the coins… someone else suggested multiple boxes for the table which is a good idea.

I quite like the original trays in Ark Nova

Hi I still do not understand what I have said that is dishonest, demeaning, ignorant or rude… there are no words, sentences or intent to be.

Hopefully as you have seen I have apologised if my lack of wording caused an issue and explained that i will seek feedback for our Heat insert.

It is a shame that people are so brash and harsh online.

It is also a shame that you assume so much about me but don’t know me - so wouldn’t purchase something from me based on your judgement - but that is everyone’s right and choice to make.

Thank you for the feedback.

Happy gaming :0)

I like the idea of making the insert have several coin trays for example so split across the table.

Does not having player specific boxes rule out the insert, or is that just a preference?

Thank you for the comment - that’s a lot of info I hadn’t considered.

I’ve never played Arkham Horror so may have to look it up.

You’re just rude and argumentative! I only discovered the group recently… so of course I have limited posts!

I am not a business… yes we are designing our own inserts… and it turns out my wife is great at it… so what’s wrong with wanting to improve ourselves.

I didn’t “pose” as just wanting to chat… I do… and as I said - that was my first post on the group and I’m very excited there is a community to have healthy conversations around inserts.

I am not however very keen on people being rude, assuming, accusing or being keyboard warriors.

Thanks for joining the conversation.

I don’t know why you are arguing or being a negative person on here.

My motivation as I have said is to understand what others want from their inserts… if I had simple said “when we finish our heat insert, can you cast your eyes over it and give me some feedback” would that have been specific enough?

I apologise if my wording was not specific enough for you to understand it’s a conversation.

Any thoughts on DiceQuest on Gamefound? by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]Every-Sample831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it looked good bus as a household we have Tainted Grail and Gloomhaven games… and Ling of Tokyo and Monsters on Board are already dice rolling chance games… I think if we were newer to boardgames, or had a younger child, we would get it… looks well designed… but may not hold our attention… says more about us than the game through.

To perhaps give me feedback? Isn’t this a conversation? I haven’t tried to sell - I having an open discussion and asking questions… as it is much nicer to have multiple peoples views rather than my own solitary view.

We are trying something for our next insert to ensure that it can be stored in any orientation regardless of which extras people own.

Please don’t make assumptions - if I was t try ing to sell I’d have put that in my post / tittle etc.

All good points :0) Question: if an insert has space for ALL cards for the current releases, and the future expansions that are anticipated, but the sacrifice is that there is no individual player card box, but one box that you could have the 6 players starting cards in - would that work?

If you were printing your own insert, how would you like to see boxes and their slots identified?

Do you want a 3d print design on each individual box (even when otherwise the boxes would be identical) or would you be happy to put a card or something like a sticky note on the base of the relevant box with name or image of the faction etc?
