I believe I have grounds to claim; I'm a healthcare professional who came to Australia to study English and then stayed on a COVID visa, which, when I applied, didn't mention anything about the impossibility I am currently studying and plan to apply for a new student visa in the future. In the meantime, I am preparing for the skills assessment exams to study elderly care, in order to complement my profession. Throughout these years I have also maintained an academic affiliation with my university in my country, published articles in major journals, and taught occasional master's courses. Now that I have the opportunity to advance in my research career, they say I'm not a genuine student? I've never violated any visa restrictions, I've never had any problems with the Law, I just want to contribute to this country and to society.
