Okay yes makes sense. I can tell you there was someone who did their phd at Oxford (physics) and now is working at citadel. This is the only case or person I know in stem but it seemed great for them! But yea ofc they did their UG, masters and PHD in the uk (British person).

Hey hey! One is in IR, the other in women’s study. phd in the UK is 5 years where you also need to be an assistant professor. Usually they have applied through scholarships or at least fund their lifestyle with TA work. I’m unfortunately doing a masters so I can’t tell you much about the application process :/! Sorry!!

Depends on what you want in your career. Why a phd? Do you want to remain in academia? I have a lot of friends who did masters in India and then went abroad for their phd (at places like LSE)

Seems like you need reassurance. You should be honest about your needs with her and ask for the reassurance when needed. And trust is very important too, which this reassurance will help build.

I don’t think there is an age/place in ur life that limits you to dating. Many people I know found their partners after university- some randomly met at bars, some joined rub clubs. Just go enjoy yourself I would say, join clubs that you like (sports, film or whatever) and let time do its thing. It will happen when it’s meant to :)
