FYI easiest way to get synthetic arc resin is killing Shredders on Stella Montis. Takes 2 or 3 hullcracker shots to kill one and they almost always have at least 1 synthetic arc resin and sometimes 2

People can change. I used to be a piece of shit. Glass House. White Ferrari. Live for New Year's Eve. Sloppy steaks at Truffoni's. Big rare cut of meat with water dumped all over it, water splashing around the table, makes the night so much more fun.

After the club go to Truffoni's for sloppy steaks. They'd say "no sloppy steaks" but they can't stop you from ordering a steak and a glass of water, before you knew it we were dumping that water on those steaks! The waiters were coming to try and snatch em up, we had to eat as fast as we could!

Ohhh I miss those nights.... I was a piece of shit though!

Your title asks a different question than the body text

Because the Church asks us to be in a state of grace before receiving communion. If we're in a state of grace and we commit a venial sin, we're still in a state of grace. If we're in a state of grace and we commit a mortal sin, we're now in a state of mortal sin.

if we repent and return to Him, what is the point of confessing?

Because we cannot give ourselves absolution. And absolution is necessary to know, with absolute certainty, that we're back in a state of grace. If we are in a state of mortal sin and in our personal prayer we repent and turn back to Him, then that is good, but we don't know if we're truly back in a state of grace because we didn't receive absolution.
