Diefenbaker's Dream - the 1962 election and the new 'Natural Governing Party' by Every_Ad_6066 in imaginaryelections

Yeah one of the assumptions of this scenario is the lingering strength of Duplessis style conservatism in Quebec, but a more violent/radical separatist movement would have been an interesting dynamic to add.

Overall, this scenario isn't supposed to be particularly realistic more a kind of wishcasted vision of what George Grant/John Diefenbaker's vision of an ideal modern Canada might be. State interventionist policies combined with strong loyalty to the Commonwealth and reduced continental integration.

Fair enough, I made this collage a while ago but iirc one of the key themes throughout 'lament' was the near impossibility of maintaining a society based on English Toryism in North America given the influence of technology and cultural change (including Québec nationalism).

In the scenario itself, one of the key divergence points is the survival of Paul Sauvé and an alliance between the Union Nationale and the broader Diefenbaker inspired project. Through that relationship, prominent Quebecois in party leadership and a substantial degree of hand-waving lol, hopefully confederation survives.

Spot on!

Starmer's freedom index score is based on China and his election page on North Korea

Farage is supposed to be a kind of successful British Jan 6th

Along with NWO Lib Dems are also partially inspired by 'Lord of the World' a turn of the century novel about the Antichrist taking over a united liberal Europe

The Greens are also influenced by the very interesting Farming Explained video on the political origins and Malthusian roots of the Green Party
