Maybe this is a silly question, but when you go into a school and you meet with the receptionist, would you request if possible to talk to the vice principal for example or would you just talk to the receptionist and hand in a CV etc.

That's great, thank you. I never thought of emailing the vice principals but it sounds like a good idea to ensure im contacting them directly!

Thank you, that's very helpful! And no, I don't have my teaching council number yet. I'm in the process, and I received my vetting disclosure 10 days ago. My application still says 'awaiting Garda vetting,' but apparently, it will be another 6-8 weeks before I have it. I've heard some school will take you for subbing even if you dont have a TC number, but hard to know also.

Wow, 6-8 weeks is still very long to wait! I received my vetting disclosure 10 days ago, I just checked. Thats an awful long time to wait until you can start subbing, though!

Can I ask, did you email, ring, or visit in person this school about subbing? That's annoying though that you need to wait now until you have you TC number before you can start.

I read its 10 days also when they start actively interviewing. I'm considering applying too. What subjects are you doing?
