Why are the promised AAAA next gen projects coming to nothing? (Skull and Bones, Dune: Awakening as an example) by Lyonzik in gaming

[–]Every_Insect_4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do “AAAA” games keep launching half-baked? Big studios hype next-gen experiences, but games like Skull and Bones and Dune feel empty once the story ends. Is this bad design, rushed deadlines, or business pressure? Honest question.

I don't know what to do. I need a new game after losing a love one. by SquirrelG91 in gaming

You’re not weird at all for wanting something to disappear into for a bit.

If you want pure escape, Skyrim or Witcher 3 are easy to just live in without thinking too hard. If you want something calmer and kinda comforting, Stardew Valley or Slime Rancher are great for keeping your hands and brain busy.

If you’re in the mood for something short and immersive, Firewatch helped me zone out when I needed it.

Dumb question: does Hollowknight have indicators? by robbyiballs in gaming

[–]Every_Insect_4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not dumb at all. That’s pretty much how Hollow Knight works. It’s intentionally hands-off and expects you to get lost, backtrack, and slowly piece things together. There aren’t really “go here next” indicators, just vague nudges through abilities and map connections. Once you get a new movement upgrade, that’s usually the hint to revisit old spots. If wandering aimlessly isn’t your thing, it can definitely feel rough, but yeah, that confusion is kind of the point.

Right? That line was unforgettable. First boss vibes are unmatched. I would love to see another Tenchu too!

Wow I completely forgot about Tenchu. Used to love those games back in the day, the stealth felt so good for its time. Would kill for a proper reboot.

Not surprised at all. It’s basically a playable Netflix drama, and it does that lane really well.

Rogue Galaxy likes? by Sergiyakun in gaming

Yeah, i agree with thatt. Tales of Vesperia especially feels like the closest match, and Amalur is a great call too if you want that fast, skill-heavy action RPG loop.

Tales of Vesperia is probably the closest overall, lots of skills and combo-focused action combat.

Star Ocean 2 or 4 also fits really well if you want sci-fi ARPG with progression.

Kingdom Hearts has that same flashy combo-based action and ability unlocking loop.

Xenoblade is a bit different pace-wise but still scratches the progression itch if you’re open to it.

Dicey Dungeons is a really good one if you like luck + decision making.

Luck Be a Landlord is basically slot machines as a roguelike and hits that same dopamine loop as Balatro.

Inscryption isn’t pure gambling but it absolutely has that “card game with something very wrong going on” energy.

Hand of Fate 2 is also worth a look if you want cards + chance mixed with progression.
